Valerus
I want to use a monitor, but I have a problem with sound. How can I get sound to work, and not have to run it through the back of my PC tower?
bdsams Veteran Posted November 25, 2006 Veteran Share Posted November 25, 2006 He drives a van because vans quite simply own you. Get a pair of powered computer speakers like logitec or your brand of choosing...any self powered set will work just fine :)

How can I get sound to work, and not have to run it through the back of my PC tower? You can't. You have to have the sound pumping out of somewhere and your going to want it to be spatially accurate. Your options are run the sound through your TV and the video through your LCD (this would pretty much suck as all sound would spatially be off unless you have your TV and monitor right next to eachother) Run the sound through your PC (recommended if your going to be using your PC monitor) Run the sound through a stereo system Or some monitors like Dell's offer the AS soundbar which attaches to the monitor but quite frankly I don't like the way it looks

How can I get sound to work, and not have to run it through the back of my PC tower? I used a Scart switchbox with audio breakout for the sound so i can switch my speakers between the pc and my 360 Used some of those adaptors like the scart one that came with the console to plug the pc and the 360 into the switch box then used various audio leads to hook it all up (think i got em free with a crappy set of 5.1 speakers i threw the speakers out a while back but kept the leads)
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted November 25, 2006 Veteran Share Posted November 25, 2006 Just use one of these with your computer speakers and Xbox 360. The black cable should be female instead of male.

Martog
What about one for Digital coaxial? Possible? You'd need a decoder for that or digital opitical since they are a different signal type.
