deimos - I am right with you on that sentiment - it was banished on all my machines when XP came out - my two servers were already running 2k

:(   I still use 98 at school in web design class  hate it, Wish my teacher would install 2k on them like we got in other classes, but hes also a big linux freak and thinks its going to take over the desktop world, and wants us to figure out wine and set up dreamweaver, flash and other win apps

i've been using a clean install of windowsme sicne it's been out. all though since then it hasn't been on the same pc. but each time i use a computer that's mine and decided what to use, i always do a clean install of widnowsme. i'd use windows2000 pro but for a while it used to cost too much for me. even the upgrade cd. i know i could still clean install from it. and i can't seem to find it anywhere anymore thanks to xp.

I've been using XP since Beta 2 (March 2001) on my current computer. The new computer I'll be getting in a few weeks will be a dual boot with XP/Linux Mandrake 9.

I haven't used 9x at all on any machine in a pretty long time. All of the PCs at my school are either runing NT4 or 2000.

I still use Windows 98SE in school (where there is no other option).

At home, XP is the only choice :ninja:

Tried Windows 98(SE):

It crashed right after installation.... lost some systemfiles apparently... doesn't boot. This happens every time I try to install Windows 98(SE).

Tried Windows ME:

Worked fine, not much crashes, although gets really really slow if you install alot of programs.

Tried Windows 2000 Pro:

Stable but so so so slow.... can't stand that OS.

Running Windows XP Pro:

GREAT GREAT OS!! It's fast stable, doesn't crash. Think I've seen only a hand full of crashes in the last 2(?) years.... dunno I run XP since the DevilsOwn release (running another Corp. version now though).

Windows 95 - What is that?

Windows 98 - The best OS there was until XP came out.

Windows 2000 - The best and most stable OS in the world.

Windows (M)icrosoft (E)rror - A big mistake.

Windows XP - The best there is...for now.

Let me correct that last post.

Windows 95........junk.

Windows 98/se......Half Akole at best. (Akolea=ass)

Windows Me.........Whole Akole. (Akole still =ass)

Windows NT.........Same as above.

Windows 2000 Professional.......Decent Os finally.

Windows XP.......The best OS.....Hard to beat for now.

I quit using a 9x version of Windows when Windows XP Release Candidate 1 was released, and I'm glad I did. :)

Have not used it for a long time now, and the only reason for me keeping my copy of it is because I need it when doing a reinstall of XP.

I upgraded from 98 SE the day the XP came out. I'm very glad that I did upgrade right away because 98 sux compared to XP. Have only had to hit the reset button a handful of times in a year and half.
