Release To Manufacturing

It's the date which software goes from a company to get duplicated for sale. Also sometimes the date that manufacturers are given the final release of the software, as in XP will be delivered to the OEM's (dell, gateway, hp, ibm, compaq etc...) so that they can get PC's ready shipping the software pre-installed.

Gold = Code of a software application is in its final state after testing and is ready for duplication. the name comes from the Gold CDR Master used to begin duplication

RTM = Released To Manufacturing - as above - gold CD has been sent for duplication.
