Connect Mouse/KB/PS2 Controller to your 360

Update (12/23/06): Videos at X-S: http://www.xbox-scene.com/xbox1data/sep/EE...lklkAfhvumm.php

XCM has unveiled today the very first pictures of its XFPS 360 adapter for the Xbox 360 video game system. This cool device lets you connect a mouse and keyboard to your Xbox 360 via the USB port, in addition to an Xbox 360 controller and even a Sony DualShock controller.

As you may guess, this is not an authorized peripheral but definitely a much wanted adapter for those PC gamers that want to try Xbox 360 games but feel intimidated by a console controller.

PC Gamers will have the chance to play Shadowrun with both mouse and keyboard or the Xbox 360 controller; now, thanks to XCM, Xbox 360 gamers will have the same options.

Thanks Maxconsole.net for the heads up.

wow, awesome!

any reviews at all? or is it not actually out yet..

It's not out yet, that's just prototype pictures. But if TeamXtender's history is anything to go by, then it'll be a quality product that delivers exactly what it promises.

Without this device, mouse no, you can use the keyboard for typing but you cant use either in games.

This allows keyboard and mouse to be used in FPS games, i think this sort of stuff should be banned from xbox live, it creates an unfair playing field with people having the advantage of speed and accuracy.

Holy crap. How does it do that?

Does it assign xbox controller keys to the keyboard?

And mouse can be used for freelook?

I hope Microsoft bans this from Live, its a stupid idea, everyone using a pad and a few using keyboard and mouse having the unfair advantage.

If they are going to do that, they might as well ban the product itself.

Why, you can still play single player games with it. The whole point of live is everyone has a level playing field, yes some people might have more skill than others but at least the interface is the same so everyone has the potential to be as good as everyone else.

Throw this into the mix and it upsets the balance, Id get ****ed off if i constantly got killed by someone who has an unfair advantage, i liken it to cheating.

Using PS/2 Keyboards/Mice seems a bit.... obsolete. PS/2 should go the way of the floppy drive. But the USB and PS2 controller ports look good.

Is this compatible with Windows XP? Looks like a nice way to play my games on PC with a PS2 controller.

em, this sort of thing has been tried before, the mouse never feels quite right because the games arent designed to use a mouse, it will be awful to use unless they have sorted this out

I wouldn't use it for single player if I have to disconnect it for multiplayer.

OT, but I also feel that input device should be as open as possible, instead of handicapping users with devices not best suited for the task.

Back to topic, it also seems to me that if the device pretends to be a 360 controller, there would be no way to ban it.

oh boy! :pinch:

first of, there's no support for mouse build-in the Xbox 360. for that thing to work properly you'll need to modify the XOS kernel to add the proper interface to handle the point and click interface. second, you just can't use a mouse on any game just like that... again, not a single game for the Xbox platform has been build to support a mouse/keyboard configuration and thinking that just by plunging in a mouse will "unlock" the mouse pointer on any game is just wishful thinking...

sorry to burst you bubble guys but this is not the holy grail of gaming...   :p
