Nice one Microsoft - Xbox 360 Connect to PC

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

Wanted to connect my Xbox 360 to my PC, it told me to visit "www.xbox.com/pcsetup", i clicked Service Pack 2

and it lead to me http://www.xbox.com/en-US/pcsetup/xpsp2.htm. Here it told me to Install ZUNE software ( What the ****? ) When i downloaded it, it tells me my OS is in the 'wrong' language and the setup aborts.

A few months ago you just had to download a simple program, what's going on?

I tried - WMP11 Can't find my Xbox apparently.

Step 2: Turn on media sharing.

* Click the arrow below the Library tab, and then click Media Sharing.

* In the Media Sharing dialog box, select the Share my media to check box.

* In the list of devices below the Share my media to check box, select your Xbox 360.

* click Allow

* click OK

My Xbox360 doesen't show up, connected to the same network and all. That's why i decided to use the onscreen guide.

What can you stream to the 360? I plan to stream some XVID to mine, if I decide to purchase one. Is it possible to stream XVID?

Not without converting it...... 360 only accepts wmv

This is a big problem, just check out xbox forums and you will see how many posts there are for that matter, from what i've collected:

1. Go to the options of both ethernet controller, go to the authentification and uncheck the IEEE802.1 -> that fixed for me.

2. If you still have problems check out this thread -> seems to work for most people

Hope it will help you out.

You shouldn't need to change anything on your router assuming both your 360 and your PC are both connected to it. But a software firewall on the PC could get in the way (the built-in Windows one and any others that sync their rules with it should automatically be set up to allow WMC through.

bascially, i had this problem, i deleted the computer profile off my 360, turned off my firewall on my computer and then remade the computer profile on the 360 and it connected and WMP11 could see it, i then re-enabled the firewall and it still works!
