Xbox Live Speed Cap?

Recommended Posts

my DSL router can do QOS prioritising by ip/port or circuit < WHY?! but ive never figured out how to use it

I still haven't figured out why it has pvc0 - 8 when it only has one adsl modem in it, each one appears to be a seaperate set of dsl settings... who has 8 isp accounts on one dsl line

I think your router is better ;) but who cares about speeds as long as its lagfree thats the important thing ;)

My name on live is breafdragon you can add me if you want to, although im not the best player out there. When im winning its usally down to luck more than skill

I have:

gears of war

G.R.A.W

chrome hounds

cod3 (on order should have it in a few days)

ive got a 99nights and oblivon as well but those aren't mutiplayer as far as i can remember.

Ill keep that in mind thanks, I don't yet have my xbox 360 but when I do I'll leave you a message and a friends request :) I am not the best player but as I see it, gaming is for fun! :) I love CO-OP games the most, especially ones with Single Player CO-OP. :)

you'll like Gears of war then you can do 2 player co-op splitscreen, via system link or via xbox live.

ive actally been playing the campain co-op with someone from another forum i frequent...

My mate played it on single and tbh its better on co-op cus the AI does a terrrible job of controlling the 2nd char. :|

that's is correct; the other day I heard something about the QoS on XBL, this means that if at any moment your ping starts falling bellow 100 you're most likely to be kick out of the match to prevent you from lagging the whole session.

Below 100 or above 100? And I assume this all takes place in the matchmaking part of the game?

Edit: Nevermind the 100 ms part - I hadn't read the second page yet when I posted this :p

Download speed of your connection only matters to a certain point. Even during games with the max amount of players the most information being trasmitted is less then 300Kb/sec which equates to around a 3mbps connection.<snip>

Point I was making is that the netcode is dire for the latter games. Saints Row has since been improved after the patch but it's still choppy at best. GoW is obviously flawless with Epic at the helm even if you're playing against people on the other side of the world.

Funny video, but makes no comment at all on the multiplayer since that is an Emergence Hole, which only appear in the Single Player Campaign. Perhaps I am wrong, but I have played all of the MP levels, and I am 98% sure I have never seen Emergence Holes in the MP.

wasnt really talking about lag. i have 1.5 meg dsl now and notice no lag at all. I was wondering more about downloading movies and demos. was there a cap to that?
