[Question]Gears of War & Xbox 360

Thats whack :| , so once I get home and I see the 360 in front of me i won't be able to play it until I buy the batteries :(

I'm not sure I would of thought they would come with "one life" batteries but not rechargeable because as you can see they cost extra. :(

What I did was get the Quick Charge Kit, and bought two Rechargeable battery packs so I always have one fully charged in case my current battery pack gets down to one bar of energy. I do the ol switcheroo and I got 25 more hours of gaming.

Sounds better then Play and Charge. How many batteries does the Quick Charge come with and what's charge time?

keep doing that and you'll kill your batteries in no time...

rechargeable batteries needs to get the full/empty cycle every once in a while to prevent them from damaging the smart power cells that "talks" with you peripherals...

After going through my first 24 pack of AA batteries, I think I'm going to get the play and charge kit. Seems like the best overall deal as you can continue playing as you charge the battery.

Does anyone know if the wireless controller will work w/ the PC w/ the play and charge kit? I know the wired controllers will work, but it would be cool to be able to use my xbox 360 controller w/ my PC.

As for the drain/recharge cycle of a battery... aren't the batteries Lithium Ion? If so, you will gain very little life by completely draining the battery before recharging it. In fact, draining the battery below something like 5% can actually harm the battery. If it is nickel cadium rechargeables then you will need to drain before recharge or they lose their "memory" or whatever. But for lithium ion it cycling like this is about the equivalent of storing your alkaline batteries in the freezer or refrigerator. You gain maybe an extra hour of life out of them, nothing earth shattering.

Nope, it'll just charge the controller. There's a dongle coming out that'll allow all wireless 360 devices to be used on a PC, but we don't have a date. :/

You can recharge 4 batteries simutaniously, 1 batterie fully charge only takes 2 hours while charging 4 takes 4 hours.

ROFL, you guys make me laugh <3

Another ( maybe one last question ) I heard that you can have players play on the same Xbox 360 and play online on Xbox Live on some games, if this is true does each player require a Xbox Live account for unranked games like in GoW? PDZ?

It depends on the game. Some games allow guests to 'piggy-back' on an active Live account, some don't. I'm not sure if GoW does or not. PDZ does allow guests.

darkgash, get the play and charge kit. everyone get that, it helps the environment, you fools! And i think if you hook it up to a PC it'll simply charge the 360 wireless controller, but you won't be able to play.

i know this happens when i put my Sony K800i into the 360's USB. it charges, but the console doesn't communicate with the phone like a PC.

You could also use rechargeable AA's. I know a lot of people probably have digital cameras or something else where they'd already have a charger sitting somewhere.

Personally, having my controller anchored to the 360 just wouldn't work for me because of where the 360 sits. Besides, I'd probably end up yanking my 360 to the floor since I'm so used to never having my controllers attached to anything.
