$119AU (average) for games

thats most certainly the upper end and really only at EB too. Try shopping about. Some Aus EBay retailers (not auctions but sellers) have the games alot less otherwise go with playasia or something. JB seems to becoming a viable alternative too. You can get games often for about $60 if you are prepared to buy online and shop about as new when EB sells them for $120. The funny thing is they are sealed too unlike most of EB's stock which for all you know is actually a returned game. On that note EB has a decent sale on currently but with a few of the games 40% off. Got myself Oblivion for $50AU new (made him go out back to get a new one)

Id say currently via retail the average is about 90-100 with several titles prices dropping. Of the games he got at least 2 of them can be had for $56. Still, a very good deal.

When I got my 360 (a year ago), I can only get the console, and there won't any bundle at all... Ppl are getting lucky these days.
yeah but you got an extra year game play ;) Edited by Smigit

how much will you realistically save waiting 4 more months? I doubt any drops going to be that significant and I really would recommend you just buy it sooner so you have 4 more months to use it. The consoles always going to be x amount of days getting cheaper, have to just get it sometime and March is quite a while off.

At the absolute most it's be a $100US drop and I doubt even that much. Also even with the PS3 out there MS probably wont need to play a price game with them as they are already so much more competitive already in terms of monetry value. Witch Xmas looming theres bound to be some bundles with games which IMHO would be better getting than waiting until a march price drop which may not even happen.

That's a good price, but I say you should also put extra warranty into consideration. Microsoft has only provided the Xbox 360 90 days warranty rather than a minimum 1 year warranty as Sony has done with their PS3 and Nintendo with their Wii.

I purchased my Xbox 360 last Saturday for $700 CAD (Xbox 360 Premium, 1 Extra Wireless Controller, Gears of War, GRAW, GUN, The Outfit and Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged and 2 year warranty coverage.)

Definatly a good idea considering my finally kicked the bucket last nite due to a power surge. Thats not covered under warrenty, but best buy and future shops warrenty covers it. thank god.

Agreed about the warranty.

It is not a very "feel good" purchase, in fact I believe I personally cursed the entire time I submitted it, but knowing I am protected for over two years (not sure how that worked itself out honestly, but I got it in December 2005 and I am covered through June 2008), ultimately makes me feel very, very good.
