Halo 3 Television Advertisment

Recommended Posts

The trailer might not have been as informative as the E3 one, but I think that's the intenion, with the whole viral marketting thing. To get people speculating, who are those kids, what are those enemies, what does xyz mean, and I think it's achieved that.

I've got this whole "Matrix Revolutions" feeling with this... :woot:

Why is that a good thing? Revolutions sucked.

The trailer was good IMO. For those of you who said "it sucked" then you don't know how advertising works. The ad got people to talk/question/argue/speculate about anything and everything Halo3, and that will make the game sell.

A lot changed from E3.

Nothing changed from E3 as far as the graphics go. This is pre-rendered. :p Although the bubble shield was added, which is really, really awesome.

I thought the whole ad was amazing! I'm still trying to decipher all the hidden messages in it.

I can't wait to play this game. It'll probably be the most fun I've had in a while, because 1) I love the Halo universe and 2) I love blowing things up. :p

And am I the only one who can see the trilogy ending with the inevitable death of Master Chief?

That would be to cliche.... but I too kinda see it happening since John is a savior type.

Increible trialer but I'm not going to fall for this one. This won't make it into the final. After what happened to Halo 2. We was expecting huge battles as displicted in the E3 2003 demo trailer, only for the final game to have boring and small battles which makes Halo 1 more exciting yet.

The girl at the start can't be cortana, more likely a fellow spartan...looking like from it...they both could be romanetically related. Cortana is a brain copy of the director of the spartan program (mum of miranda keyes).

Can you please tell me what those two said? I am deaf and couldn't understand speech. So please translate for me.

And yes the enemies that the chief lashed at was brutes. "Tartartus" was maybe another leader of the brutes.

None of this was to reflect actual game play in any way; this is not killzone.

Read above for a chat transcipt with Frankie, and KP about the kids.

Boy: Do you ever wonder what's up there?

Girl: Like what?

Boy: Maybe someone up there is wondering what it's like here.

Girl: I guess... Do you think we'll ever meet them?

Boy: I hope so. Don't you?

*screams*

(Incoherent radio chatter)

Girl(echo): Do you think we'll ever meet them?

Girl(whisper): time to go...

Cortana: Chief, leave me.

Marine(?)(distant radio): Is anybody out there?

Marine(?)(yelling): Grenade! Call (come?) back now!

C.O.(?): Any sign of the Chief?

Marine(?): Negative sir/sergeant, I think we lost him.

Master Chief: Not yet...

Personal Analysis:

Agreed.

If they go back to Halo 1's format and style, H3 will be awesome....if the go with H2....it's gonna be mediocre at best.

I also hope the multiplayer isn't a sad noobfest that Halo 2 turned into.

You're probably just not that good.

Wasn't Elites from what I could tell--too big and broad. Tartarus and brutes?

Well, I know they were at least brutes. :p New wraiths too.

I was not impressed at all with what I am seeing from this game...dissapointing :(

I don't get how you could not have been impressed?? What were you expecting, 5 minutes of game play footage??.. and the game then pops out of the screen and on to your lap??

Well just be glad you guys got to see it. Over here there is no such thing as monday night football, more like Tuesday night MNF with all commercials stripped and even crappier military commercials to take their place. I tried downloading it after work yesterday and the internet ended up cutting out (****ty satellite time). Even tried to stream it off xbox.com and all I ever got was the audio with the video freezing with the children in the field. So you guys are the lucky ones, whether you thought the trailer was good or bad. I'm envious.

@Flacid Mongoose: you haven't seen it yet??

try this

I dont get why he had to blow the grenade in the sand? :s

he didn't.... Watch it again, he throws the grenade which activates the shield thing and then some kind of laser plasma thing hits the shield.

pretty straight forward to me.

I don't know why people are getting confused by it. :p Object thrown at feet and shield pops up out of nowhere almost immediately after. Interesting coincidence.

The wraith plasma bolts were raining down on him. Did you watch it?

Did you not watch it? He put the shield up because of the incoming plasma bolts. Watch it again and pay attention, you'll see.

Well i don't know about you, but I'd want a shield if this was coming at me:

halotrailerhdmov0000431nc4.jpg

perhaps its something to do with the X button in game?

I need a wallpaper out of that picture.

Yea, it's pretty much certain that's what the new X-button does. That's probably why they kept it secret until now.

It will dramatically change gameplay, that's for sure. Now people will have some kind of hope after spawing right in front of a rocket launcher, sword (which is no longer unlimited in Halo 3, btw), the new spartan laser, etc. It will probably also decrease the chances of getting multiple kills simutaneiously as well.

I wonder how it will work though. I'm assuming it will be some sort of energy meter that recharges, much like the always on active-shield. And that there will be a 'warm-up' period before you can use it repeatedly.
