goji
It would appear that Bungie Studios is currently working and testing a brand new games on the XBL servers. Many should recall the epic title that Bungie has for several years now attempted to produce, however due to particular obligations have not had a chance to... that is until today. Though the official product page for the game has been taken down , and all images on the Bungie website have been removed, it was through XBL that the existence of the game has come to light. Pimps At Sea XBL :woot:  Speculate away.
spacer
From the looks of "Sailing, Yarr!" It seems to be a pirate game. But from the title it would appear to be a game based in the sex trade. Seeing as how this game is hinting towards a sex theme, and will most likely have a largely male cast (due to the pirate reference); I, being a heterosexual male, want no part of this. HawkMan
It is? So Pimps At Sea = Codename? well duh.... there's like two companies that would actually make a game called that, one being Take2/rockstar, and it'd be as revolutionary asa new version of a 10 year old top down 2D game. goji
Shishka from Bungie has added his 2 cents about the project Pimps at Sea: Pimps at Sea has been mired with problems since its inception. When Bungie started development, P@S was ahead of its time, and a lot of the technology required to make the game have that perfect feel was not available yet. Shaders did not exist with the complexity necessary to make the entire interior of a boat look believably fur-lined. Lower, weaker polygon limits and no pixel shading meant it was impossible to make the planned items and awards look properly diamond-studded (for lower-level pimps still working their way up in the world, I believe there was even a host of cubic-zirconium-studded chalices and canes). Let alone the fact that water in video games has only just recently started to actually look like water.Beneath the technical delays are emotional delays. The mechanics and details of the game have always been a heated debate around the office. You'd be surprised how strongly Bungie employees feel about this; they want every detail to be absolutely correct. When is it okay to give the player leopard print? How much for each gold accessory bought for mid-class to large-class pimp ships? Should the player be allowed to diamond-stud their own inventory via a system similar to painting, or should we provide them with a number of "stud stamps" so they can choose from existing, eye pleasing stud patterns? All the details of the game are subject to constant arguing. Team meetings about Pimps at Sea always end up with someone yelling or walking off angrily. Then you've got the legal issues. Early demonstrations of the game for the ESRB led to heated arguments over whether the game should have a Mature or an Adults Only rating. Many, many developers protested when the "Turn 'em Out" technology was announced. Most developers don't want their characters protrayed as women of the night, it'd seem. Due to the nature of the development, it's often become clear that the B project being worked on aside P@S needed to take priority for a while. If anything, to get people to cool down a bit, but also to make sure that the company still retains profit while P@S is being made.

magik
Oh, that's right, yea, I completely forgot. It was usually referred to by Bungie on April Fool's. But I guess it was just a cover up.

spenser.d
Pimps at Sea was an April Fool's joke done by Bungie. Every year on April 1st Bungie would post an update about their game on the PaS product page. It's not a real game (at least not yet :D) I'm going to go out on a limb and say Halo 3 has been released for internal testing. -Spenser

Implying that I do not like to watch men having sex does not mean I am unsure my sexual orientation. It means that I do not like watching men have sex. 2. goji
Spartan I believe your plain evil incarnate who like to wack his pinata way to much. However its funny how the other thread spiraled into a homophobe rant. What was even quirkier after Shiskas comments were posted some readers still didn't get it. P@S is about passion and technology that didn't exist before the 360. Behold the future of gaming!
