Hummer vs. Schoolbus

Recommended Posts

those pics are from WRTV in Indianapolis. the driver walked away and there wasn't anyone in the passenger seat. the accident happened earlier this week, i believe, although it may have been late last week. i remember seeing the newscast but can't remember exactly when it was.

The fact the person walked away is actually something to merit Hummer with. Had it of been hit on the other side, i dont think they would of been alive.

But at the same time, i hate the way people link big cars with safety. Some big cars/trucks are, some arnt. Just because its big, doesnt mean its clever.

i think they forgot to add "with injuries"

the drives def will have hurt his knees, shoulder, chest, neck, back, and arms... you won't see him in the hospital with a machine to breathe for him, but he/she sure as hell will be at home in bed for the next 3 weeks and maybe months of physical therapy.

Hummers are just expensive toys...their performance is the worst in the SUV class, they consume the most amount of gas in the SUV class, they are no good offroad, they are more fragile than a 1996 Toyota Corolla (okay maybe not....:D), and they REALLY don't look good! Now school buses are basically a steel box with double reinforced steel bars running all around the frame and not to mention the roof of the bus is the heaviest part. It is made of steel to prevent crumpling if it rolls. So basically, no matter how you cut this, the school bus is like a tank and not the hummer....

Ha ha! Reminds me of a friend of mine that managed to hit a school bus while we were still in high school. Yeah, he never heard the end of that. It's a giant yellow thing with flashing lights. Pretty damn hard to miss.

I had no idea that a school bus was built like that. It makes sense and all, but damn... The impact was strong enough to lift the rear of the bus onto the curb and yet, the rear end is nearly intact.

The issue with the strong schoolbuses is that it will most certainly kill whoever is in the vehicle that collides with it. Had the schoolbus crumpled, the damage to the hummer would have been reduced.

It's better for 1 or 2 people to get pwned than for the lives of 60 children to be at risk.

and yes, I also think that the H2 stinks.

my general impression is alot of American cars arnt built to the same standards as Eu Cars. I'm not picking on the americans here. it just seems to be the case which is prob why their cars are so cheap in comparison to ours *IN GENERAL*. That hummer probably wouldn't make a 1star Euro Ncap rating over here. There always seems to be a rediculus amount of damage done when you see an American car crash. as in. passenger compartment disappears. Doesn't seem to happen so much over here unless the idiot decides to fly into a truck at 150mph going down the wrong side of the road.

    • Wow, this is some Iran, Cuba, China, Russia, North Korea-level citizen surveillance right there, the UK's government has gone totally mad. Power trip indeed, their politicians are totally out of control about this issue. They're starting to cross limits I wouldn't have imagined, to be honest. British people, fight this, your privacy and freedoms are in danger. Vote this government out of power.
    • Nintendo unveils The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, and it's out this year by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Confirming many rumors, Nintendo officially announced a remake of the classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the very first game in the series that offered a 3D experience to fans. Unlike previous remasters and re-releases, the originally 1998-released fantasy adventure game is being remade from the ground up for the Nintendo Switch 2 console this time. "The Nintendo 64 classic returns for a new generation in 2026, reborn exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2," said the company about today's announcement. While Nintendo didn't go into much detail about the project, other than confirming its existence, we did get a small teaser trailer at the Direct presentation today. Catch the footage below: With a tapestry as the backdrop, the first half of the trailer tells the tale of Hyrule, the Kokiri forest dwellers, and their fairy companions. It goes onto introduce "one particular boy" without a fairy, which then cuts to a sleeping Link, showcasing what looks like the new art style being introduced in the remake. Unfortunately, no gameplay or a look at the world has been revealed yet. The game originally released for the Nintendo 64 back in 1998, offering a time travel adventure where Link is once again going up against the evil king Ganondorf. The hugely well-received title has only been playable on modern Nintendo consoles using the Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for the Nintendo Switch 2 doesn't have a firm release date yet, but Nintendo says it will be released sometime in 2026. Considering just how many publishers are avoiding the Grand Theft Auto VI release nowadays, the company may copy that strategy and also opt to bring this out before November this year.
