Gfunk4life
http://www.engadget.com/2005/06/21/microso...oles-in-first/3 Microsoft wants to sell 10 million Xbox 360 consoles in first year or so i know this is old but i think this will make a good poll
spenser.d
I think it'll be darn close, if not. Without the PS3 on the market, and a lot of people looking for more than just a Wii, the Xbox 360 is in a great position to be picked up this holiday season. Also, even though MS doesn't have any price cuts in store, retailers seem to be taking that into their own hands and providing 360's at discounted prices or in bundles for the same price. -Spenser
brentaal
I think they will, especially now that the holidays are coming, the sales are gonna go sky high. Sony also helped them with the PS3 price so a lot of people are turning to X360 now. ;)

Sony also helped them with the PS3 price so a lot of people are turning to X360 now. ;) Yes, any at least half-way sane people will rather buy a X360 (if they want a more powerful console) or a Wii (if they want innovation). The PS3 is just overpriced crap, and you are forced to pay for the Bluray player which won't be of any use for quite some time to come :x

Meshuggah
For the past two weeks, it has seemed that MS is selling around 100,000 360's a day. If this current trend keeps up, then yes, they will make it past 10 million 360's by the end of the year. I believe this will happen.
Ash
If I had the money 2 weeks ago I would have bought the deal at Futureshop It was XBOX 360 premium Bundle with Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter Ridge Racer 6 Gears of War and I think there was another game in there too. 499$ cnd, which is an awesome bundle because the normal price for the premium bundle without any games, is usually 499$

Although they didn't have Ridge Racer 6 in stock so they took off $15 off Gears of War for me...Oh and they forgot to scan the extra wireless controller that I took...I realized it a week after though haha...all together it was $700 CAD. Going to trade in GUN and the Outfit for $30 at Blockbuster today or tomorrow. Also, I do believe Microsoft will be able to sell 10M units around the end of the year, I personally had my eyes on a PS3 but I did some extensive research regarding the games and the 360 had more games that I like (Shooters). Mathachew Veteran Posted December 2, 2006 Veteran Share Posted December 2, 2006 I like how they try to make it sound like they've eventually sold 10 million in a year by using "in the first year or so". They hit 7million at around a year and are almost at 8 million. The article says 12-16 months, which will probably be spun into, "We sold 10 million X-Box consoles after just a year of being released," even if it comes closer 16 months, which is more than "over a year or so." DirtyLarry Veteran Posted December 2, 2006 Veteran Share Posted December 2, 2006 I was at Target the other day on my lunch break just looking around, seeing if perhaps they had some Wii's in stock. 1 PM During the Day, Wednesday Afternoon, 3 People in a row on the Electronics section line were getting XBox 360's. All women, all obviously getting it is a gift. I think they all knew each other, worked at the same place or something, and they all must have just said our kids will like this let's go get it at lunch. As that was going on, a man asked the cashier when the PS3 will be coming in, and the cashier just laughed. That kind of put things into perspective to me. I heard the one lady mention how she was glad it was so easy to find. So I think a lot of parents will get it for the lower price and the now ease of finding it. We will see, but I know three more were sold.

Brandon Live Veteran Posted December 3, 2006 Veteran Share Posted December 3, 2006 Our Best Buy just has giant piles of both 360 models on the floor - and people are always picking them up (or restocking them). To quote someone on the Xbox team recently talking about the holiday season, "We are gonna sell us some consoles!"

To quote someone on the Xbox team recently talking about the holiday season, "We are gonna sell us some consoles!" Yeah, I went to a Best Buy on Black Friday and they had a nice massive pile of them set up in front of the service counter...they seemed to be going pretty fast. -Spenser
