Smashing Pumpkin
I'm getting my 360 for Christmas and would like to know, which are the best offline single player games, I can't get broadband where I live, so no XBox Live, and because I live out in the middle of nowhere it is pretty rare my mates come over, and even if they do most of them arn't into gaming like I am. I'm already going to get Gears just because it looks so damn good, I'm also considering Moto GP 06 and Rainbox Six: Vegas, I have no idea about other titles though, and is Rainbox Six's single player any good / long / hard ? Any help greatly appreciated, Richard.

magik
Gears of War and Rainbow Six: Vegas both have some great single player modes imo. I also really enjoyed the single player in the following: Call of Duty 2 (didn't like 3 as much, but others have) Splinter Cell: Double Agent Oblivion (I haven't played this but it has received triple-A reviews) Kameo Need for Speed: Most Wanted
MrAlday
Dead Rising is only single player and it's a freaking blast to play. Viva Pinata is a good time too.

Heyo
DEAD RISING. Yes! I actually liked the last Tomb Raider game to be released on the 360 also (it was a pretty good return to form for the series) but it doesn't get mentioned much now as it is relatively old. Oblivion didn't do too much for me as I've done Everques\Everquest II etc to death and found it too similar in look\feel. That's just me though. Viva Pinata is getting very good reviews but I havn't had a chance to try it yet because it is SOLD OUT. I was going to get Moto GP but found the demo on Live pretty 'meh' so didn't end up bothering with it.

Elliott
My favorite single player games are Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter Splinter Cell: Double Agent The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Kameo: Elements of Power (this game is great fun even though it's a little short; replay value is tremendous because it's kinda arcade style) Project Gotham Racing 3 Dead Rising Gears of War Call of Duty
magik
Oblivion and the KOTOR's (I know those are Xbox games, but they are still great). Oblivion is a 360 game (ES:IV). KOTOR is an Xbox game, however.

What I meant was that Oblivion was the only X360 title I suggested, but both KOTOR's are awesome too.
Smashing Pumpkin
**** your signature is hilarious Elliot ! I'm thinking Oblivion, Rainbow Six, Gears, Moto GP... ...Isn't PGR4 coming out soon...? I dunno.
Krome
Wow... I was gonna suggest Oblivion too but alot have mention it already... I am currently playing Oblivion and dam the game creeps me out... Play that game and you will like it. This RPG game is unlike any other RPG game... No linear story or restrictions for that matter. Map is gigantic. Your character will never ever be similar to other people. You have full control over the looks of the character, but when you go out to discover the world, you will never know what your character will turn to. You might turn into a Vampire if you are not becareful. I repeat, you will have little control over your character if you don't play carefully. You have full control in a sense. This game simulate real world situation very well. Graphics are superb. Be prepared to have a nightmare after playing that. lol The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion <-- gets my vote

Smashing Pumpkin
Should be getting Halo for cheap since its an xbox classic game, but a lot of reviews say Halo 2 isn't as good so I might not get that.
yert*
Tomb Raider Legend as someone mentioned, is actually a pretty fun game. You can probably find it now for 20-30 bucks too. Maybe cheaper if you buy a used copy. Oblivion is fun, but it gets old. It's kinda like doing the same missions over, talking to slighty different NPCs, sometimes with different voices. For as big and non-linear as it is, it get's very repetitive. Splinter Cell: DA is a great game if you like stealth games, and Dead Rising is pure fun. Who doesn't like slaughtering zombies in a mall? I forget if you said you were getting or thinking about getting R6 Vegas, but it's almost like GRAW, so if you like GRAW, you'd probably like R6: Vegas and vice versa. yert*
If you want some cheap xbox classics get KOTOR 1 and 2! Mass Effect should be coming out next year soon. Same developer, different IP, but it's gonna rox.
Trong
Splinter Cell: Double Agent, IMO, had a great single player. Kept me going for about a week or two. I'm not much of a spy game guy, SCDA was my first.
sharpy2k4
thing is, if he gets xbox classic games, wont he need to connect to live in order for them to work on his 360 due to the emulation update. Or will his 360 as its new have the emulation updated already for him, cause that could pose quite a problem
