Or will his 360 as its new have the emulation updated already for him, cause that could pose quite a problem Hmm... I'm not sure if the newer 360s have the updates pre-installed. He can always download the updates on his computer and burn them to disc if he has to, and if not that, every OXM disc has the backwards compatibility updates on them.
