Chad.C
So I just got myself a Xbox 360 about 10 minutes ago ..Woo Go me.. Now I'm trying to set up ICS but can't seem to get it right.. This is how my network at home is setup. My computer connects to my router wirelessly. I have set up static IP addresses for both my computer and the family computer which is connected to the router via an ethernet cable. What I want to do is plug in Xbox360 into the ethernet port on the back of my computer and use my wireless connection to the router to give it access to the internet. I've tried the Xbox site on how to set it up but when enabling ICS it wants to get the LAN ip to 192.168.0.1 when that is my routers IP. I have WPA-PSK and Mac Filtering Enabled. DCHP is disabled .. Any help would be greatly appreciated..
chrismaddern
I've got to admit, I'm in a bit of a rush so didn't read properly, but sounds to me like the only chance of that working is to bridge the ethernet connection on the PC with the DCC to the 360. You will probably need a crossover cable for the 360 - PC connection? Chris
devilotX
Why don't you just save yourself the hassle and run a cat5 cable from the router to the Xbox? is the router in the basement or something? there are far easier ways to do what your trying to do. Hell, pick up a cheap hub or switch and put it between the router and Family computer and hook the Xbox to that. I can't foresee an issue where this is your only choice to get your 360 online. Chad.C
Problem is the router is nowhere near my computer. I would have thought it was going to be a simple process and I don't want to have to buy that Xbox Wireless Adapter thing..

Chad.C
Its not too far..maybe 15 metres, but running cables around the house isn't an option for me right now. That why i thought i could just connect 360 to my computer and use the wireless off my computer.. Sounds simple ..

I might be wrong but I think there is something you can get to intersept your wireless signal and route it to your pc and 360. intercept

selphj
Doesn't matter now, but the problem was likely that ICS and your router were using the same subnet. Just about all NAT devices use 192.168.0.1, so you'd need to modify one to use a 10. or something.
