It looks like they formated your harddrive no worries. On xbox live pan then go to recover gamertag from xbox live. You do have to download all the contents again but check if they gave you a new HD. If it is then your're one lucky fella.

Ohh also forgot to mention that you are really screwed with the game saves.

just restart the console a few times, and it should detect it. format your HDD if it doesn't work.. and then recover your gametag information

I did a google search on your problem and found the following solution:

HOW TO SURVIVE THE WORLD SERIES AND SUCCEED ACADEMICALLY!

Thursday, October 28

Bureau of Study Counsel, 5 Linden Street

Tips from M. Suzanne Renna, Acting Director, Bureau of Study Counsel

1. Even the best pitchers need some relief - you can't expect to do everything all the time and come out on top (take Pedro Martinez, for example).

2. Take it one pitch at a time - break your work down into small doable tasks that can be done at various times during the day.

3. Train for the game - eat well (David Ortiz eats more than chips and hotdogs, and doesn't wake up with a hangover before the game).

4. The pre-game party atmosphere is fun, but it doesn't compare to the satisfaction of performing well in the game.

5. Believe in yourself - if you think you are cursed, it could become a self-fulfilling prophesy.

6. Baseball is mostly about hanging in there - you need to stay on the field even after making an error or striking out.

Don't let your super-ego play tricks on you! We wouldn't want you to develop a psychosomatic illness. No, that would not be good at all.

Did you clean the connection between HDD and 360, and make sure it's properly sitted down. Since it's not recognizing the HD it might be a connection issue.

yep canned air

yep

dude, who told you to use canned air on a 360? it's not like embedded dust particles are gonna do this to you...it's just a simple connection for heaven's sake, canned air may cause more harm than anything else.

at any rate, i'd say try to re-seat the thing. is your 360 booting at all? if it is booting with the HDD (not HD, that's confusing, i thought you were talking about the HD-drive), then it may well be a formatting issue and you're not doing so bad. if the machine isn't booting with the HDD in, but does without it, then you know it's the HDD and just send it back.

that's what i did when i got the E67 error.

Again explain properly what the problem is, including the last post this is what I am getting. The first HD wasn't working properly so you contacted Microsoft and got a replacement unit, The new HD you can see in the memory tab on 360 but (Now here where I am confused about what your problem is)

a. When you try to make a profile and was asked where to save you couldn?t find the HD.

b. You can't find the HD at all.

One option is to check to see if you can actually use the HD by trying to rip a CD or play a game and try to save. If it does read the HD then you HD is fine and there's something else.

I feel sorry for you (I know that's not going to solve any problem), But I have call MS lots of time (including and mostly for windows) and have never received this kind of run around. I have no idea why it happened to you. I would do one thing, Keep calling I know it sound tiring but since it a matter of $195 I would think otherwise. Tell them to ship a prepaid box to send the HD and once they fix it ship it back to you and also keep the number of time you called what time, Name of the person and also if they are not any help tell them you want to talk to their supervisor. They have to keep records of how many times you called, they get inspected randomly and they also check what are the main complain you make and everything is recorded.

I know this because the last time I called the operator gave the phone to the supervisor and he started about why I keep calling for 116 times to activate XP. :D lol

P.S.

I am just guessing that you live in US, if any other country let me know.

Ouch wtf?

The first thing I'd have done with a console that didn't work when I got home would be to take it back to the supplier and not send it back for repair, firstly because I wouldn't feel like waiting for the delievery, secondly cost, thirdly because MS send you someone else's refurbed box and not your brand spanking new machine.
