Itching for a new 360 game

Recommended Posts

I'm itching to get a new 360 game today and I'm not sure which ones. Here is the list of game I currently have for my 360, and I've placed them in order of personal preference.

1. Gears of War - freaken awesome. This is the type of game I love to play.

2. Oblivion - i like it but it is almost too open ended for me. and kinda progresses really slowly.

3. Dead or Alive 4 - awesome graphics and can be a lot of fun. I've dumped so many hours into DoA 4 and I still suck so bad.

4. Dead Rising - They could have done so much more with this game. And I find that some parts are ridiculously slow. I wish there was MP.

5. Table Tennis - I got this used, and now I see why. Pretty boring game. Mario Tennis for the N64 was better.

Now what.. :|

I've read too many bad reviews for CoD 3 to go near it. I personally don't care for realistic war time shooters. I prefer shooters when i'm taking down aliens or bugs as oppose to people. I also like unrealistic gameplay as oppose to super realistic gameplay.

I have tried a bunch of the Tom Clancy games and could never get into them. I find them too slow.

I may try Madden 07. I need to check to see what a buddy of mine has ('06 or '07). Does it have MP through xbox live? I've developed kind of a strong dislike towards anything that is EA games and now carry around a prejudice against them.

What about Viva Pinata? I've read a lot of good reviews on it.

I didn't know Rainbow Six was already out. Maybe i'll give that one a try. I've only tried Spliter Cell and Ghost Recon Tom Clancy games.

What is different about Rainbow Six?

Rainbow Six is a SWAT based shooter, hostage and bomb situations etc. Requires a lot of patience, and is very much tactical based - not a gung ho shooter. Very realistic and can be EXTEREMLEY difficult and frustrating. It is a challenging game, which is good in my opinion. I like it. Oh, and the MP via Live is awesome.

Madden is great if you're a football guy. Unfortunately there isn't much choice when it comes to sport games (either EA or 2k7 I think). But it looks beautiful and it's good fun. And yes, it does have online features.

If you like skating, get Project 8 :D

Rainbow Six Vegas is great but its got so many glitches and rooms are always locking up on me and my mates and sometimes you can only hear 1 or two people in multiplayer.

Nice looking, fun to play but also frustrating as hell

...

No offense - but that is _such bull****_ :p

Theres no such thing as tactics or realism in R6Vegas - its an action-shooter now.

Shadrack - if you didnt like the rainbow six series before, NOWS the time to try it again.

Its pure, 100% uncut action with a lame hollywood storyline - its fun, but its nothing like the good ol' ones :(

@Graham51 - those are the games i already own.

Anyway.. I ended up getting Viva Pinata and Rainbow 6 Las Vegas. I've played Pinata for about 45 minutes so far and I think it is pretty cute. The graphics are great and the gameplay is pretty easy to pick up. Definitely targeting a younger audience, but I'm a sucker for these type of sim games. I haven't tried Rainbow 6 LV yet.

Wait for Lost Planet, it looks awsome, also Rainbow Six Vegas looks quite good!

Fifa 07 is pretty cool 2!

Why should I wait for Lost Planet? Why can't I get a cool game now...and then get Lost Planet when it arrives?

Lost Planet was kinda....not fun for me :p

And if youre into football (european :p) - then get Pro Evolution Soccer.

Thats the game Fifa is starting to copy.

But then again, dont get Pro Evolution Soccer for the x360 - its crippled as in, many things have been pulled out of the x360 version

The PS version is fine tho

One thing I don't like about Viva Pinata is the packaging. I think the packaging sucks! I guess they were trying to give it a unique look, but it sure does take a few extra steps to get to the game disc.

Same with the Gears of War collectors edition packaging. It at least looks nice, but it isn't very user friendly to get the disc in and out. sigh...oh well.

shadrock, get DOAX2 if you liked DOA4. it's so silly and OTT it's awesome!!

Is it really???

It's getting load of suckie reviews.

I was really looking forward to this game (because I find the whole b00bies thing hilarious) but I just can't get past all the slamming reviews.

I was starting to wonder if all the reviewers are just taking it too seriously, or were the type that went nuts over the whole janet jackson ward-drobe malfunction thing?

Im surprised no one mentioned Marvel Ultimate Alliance? I think that might be a game you would like since you refer to more of a scifi type of game. Good graphics + good online play as well.

heyo i like it a lot, it's a nice distractrion from other genres and the graphics are really nice. basically the opening CGI is worth the admission almost. if you like animated gravure and stuff this is the shiznit. forget about reviews...they look at it from a game perspective. you on the other hand have to look at ###### from another viewpoint all together. oops.

Yeah but you could get a subscription to FHM or something that would last a year. The gift that keeps giving.

Anyway I too dont think the game looks that great at all. Granted the animated sequences look brilliant but if thats what you want to see then theres a 300MB HD trailer on gametrailers.com for free.

@Nashy. Nice to see a Broncos supporter :)

Do you NEED the manual? If not why not take out the part that has the dvd and cd and put the manual at the bottom of the tin and leave the cd part on top. If you ever need the manual you can still get it out but 99% of the time that wont be what your going for.
