Cyberkiller
Going to be getting an xbox 360 soon, should I pickup the quick charge kit or the plug'n'play kit? Which do you guys think is better? Thanks!
jerzdawg
plug and play.... just seems more practical to always have the lithium battery charged once you are done playing... i have yet to have a gaming session where i had to worry about the batteries.... with the quick charge it still requires you to change out the batteries.... DrCheese
Surly the quick charge kit is better since you don't have to have a cable running to your controller making it pretty much a wired controller. All you have to do is buy another battery set for it and your set(Or don't have 15 hour gaming sessions lol)

DirtyLarry Veteran Posted December 22, 2006 Veteran Share Posted December 22, 2006 so the controller gets charged even with the xbox off? What you do is unplug it to play. When you are about to turn the XBox off, plug it back in, hold down the guide button, and choose Shut Down Console. When you shut down with it plugged in, a red light will come on, and that red light indicates it is charging even though the console is now turned off. So this is how I use the PLug N Play. Always disconnect it when I start up the console, almost always connect it when I shut down the console. I am always wireless, but also always charged. I have never had one time when my controller lost it's charge while I was gaming. I have had my 360 for a year now too. Also I should note, there are those times I do not plug it in before I shut down, and the charge easily lasts a few days. I cannot tell you exactly how long it lasts, because as I said before, I have never lost a charge. ;) So as long as you are diligent about it, the Plug N Play works fine, and there is never any wires invloved except when you are charging it. So I hate to say it, but the people saying you having the Plug N Play is like having a wired controller are just not using it right.
Brandon Live Veteran Posted December 22, 2006 Veteran Share Posted December 22, 2006 I own both but I never use the play n' charge kit. I have four controllers and 4 or 5 batteries, and I just use the Quick Charge thing. There are pretty much always 2 batteries in it and if one of the controllers starts blinking it gets swapped out with one of the charged batteries in the dock. I prefer the quickcharge, I just have the wires hooked to my PC and put my controllers on it when needed :)

Does that indicate the battery is nearly dry?
