Should I rent gears of war for 5 days?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm borrowing my friend's xbox 360 for a week since he'll be on vacation elsewhere. I'm planning on getting gears of war from rogers for 5 days. How long is the game? 15 hours or so? I'll be playing 3-5 hours a day for 5 days

Its not really easy, just short. It is fun on Live, but I personally dislike Live (another topic though :p). If you decide to buy one, Live+GoW is a good choice.

i am struggling to kill the final dude on the train ;(

Wait till the bats fly away from him, keep shooting him, he probably wont do much as long as you keep shooting him, and then when he gets near you just run to the other side and do the same, and just make sure you stay in the light.

I would just rent the game, i actually thought it sucked, and was over rated and the reason everyone liked it is becuase they thought the graphics were nice(****ty job on the blood though). Somehow i got bored with it and it seemed like it was getting draged on even though it was short.

Ill sell my copy for like $45 if anyone wants it.

The fun is in the online mode (co-op and death matches) that's why the game is so good.

I, for one, loved the Single Player, however, I thought it was a lot of fun and it definitely takes some time on the harder difficulty settings.

most x360 games aren't good rentals...with the achievements and xbl to figure in you're better off buying since there's quite a lot of replay value.

you guys must be getting something in your diet i'm sorely missing. have been playing GOW for a month now, maybe two hours weekly and still not done. that's 8 hours by now with maybe three more to go. over ten hours for a single player campaign isn't too short.

When you are doing almost the same damn thing over and over it is.

i beat hardcore in 2 sittings.. it wasn't that hard, and it was pretty short.

actually... based on your Gamertag you only beat it on casual.... i find it odd you would attempt to tell someone not to buy a game by lying about your experience with it.... to the original poster... def rent the game...def skip playing it on casual and play it on hardcore... casual was very easy.. it was alot of fun and if you beat it early... go online

haha are you mental? i thought i was generally rubbish at games, but ive completed it twice...once on coOp and once on my own, on hardcore setting...in under a week!

Oh ho ho, let's see who has the biggest e-penis on teh Neonets! :uberhump:

Seriously, people. Everyone is going to play through the game at their own pace. Some people will enjoy it for what it is, others will complain for what it isn't. Who cares? Potentially, yes, the game may take longer than 5 days, if you want to experience co-op along with single player and dabble in multiple difficulties. But if you just want to say "I've finished Gears of War," then you should have plenty of time.

jerzdawg, that was harsh man. let the guy be, even if he's wrong about the game being short, which it isn't.

cammy, i must admit to finding 360 games decidedly harder than what i'm used to from the PC and PS2. not a controller issue i'm quite sure. however, another thing is that i can only play for like thirty minutes a day at most, which usually ends up being a couple of hours on GOW during the weekends. at that speed it's a long game.

thx for the back ragnarok! heh heh i don't think those comments were mean, tho.

How was that harsh?..lol... the original poster is looking for feedback on the game and lylesback is lying about his experience.... now i dont think the op will just take one guys opinion and not rent the game... but damn... what is the point in making something like that up??...
