Well unfortunetly I only have a 32" RCA regular TV, no HDTV no LCD nothing fancy like that. And I don't have any other audio system setup either, I'll just have to live with no HD and no super hifi audio :(

Awww that sucks. Well if you got like $150 like I did i got an RCA reciver with 5.1 all the hookups at wallmart its nice with 720watts good bass and sound quality. But some ppl don't like RCA. I got the RT2760

8.8 from Gamespot is bad?

I'm not on about IGN or Gamespot but users and Gametrailers. If multiplayer is good and you want it - mu opinion can't stop you ;). Watch the review, it isn't "rated" bad but they say it isn't much different then 2 and there's objects that you can't jump over etc.

You could always put the 360 on your computer desk and hook it up to your monitor if you ever get to urge for HD. ;)

Like someone else said, I recommend getting the two games you decided on and then start downloading demos. There are over 50 demos available on the Marketplace and that's not including the Live Arcade games.

Well I just got back (whew that took forever!) with my shiny new 360! I'm giddy like a schoolgirl, I haven't been this excited in years, how gay is that? lol

I got Rainbow Six Vegas, Gears of War, GRAW and Dead Rising.

As for the networking thing, I couldn't get the 360 wireless adapter, nor could I get a wireless router today, so I'll have to wait till tomorrow. But I'm thinking, maybe I can just take the plug from the back of my TV and put it into my 360? lol

Tee hee I just loaded in a demo disk from Xbox mag and played some Carbon and a little Smackdown/Raw 07...man its way different than a PC :( Gonna have to get used to the controller again.

And no, I can't plug my ethernet cord directly into the box lol, I'd have to literally move my cable modem down to the tv in the living room and set it up there. Bleh. Guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow to boggy on Live.

Downloading the Saint's Row and the trial for Geometry Wars :D

My "gamertag" is LordLOC if anyone wants to add me, but be gentle I'm new!

Congrats on the Xbox 360 bro! I got my X360 on Nov 27th, although I had to pay for it (My friends hate me...no gifts for me -.-! Lol jk..).

Eh I had someone request me add them to their friends list, but I had no idea who it was, though I assume now it was Ruiz up there ^ heh.

In any event, I tried playing some GRAW, apparently I started a MP match somehow, because someone wanted/or did join...but I cannot get used to playing that with a controller. I can already see that as an issue :(

I think after I eat something I'll try Rainbow Six or Gears of War. Then of course I'll try the 3 demos I downloaded!

Yep, I'm half asleep heh. I'll add you in a minute.

I have a Linksys wireless network and I purchased the Xbox 360 wireless adapter.....hookup was a breeze.

CoD3 is quite a buggy experience
Huh? CoD 3 Single Player is the bomb and Multiplayer is even better. I would *highly* recommed CoD 3 and if you get it, add Skinnylegs to your friends list and I'll show you the ropes.

Oh yeah....if you're into HD movies, the HD-DVD player is a nice add-on for 199 ducats.

but I cannot get used to playing that with a controller
I had a difficult time with the transition from mouse/keyboard to hand controller as well. I could hardly get though the first level of GoW which was pretty darn frustrating. Now, after a month or so, I end up in the middle of the pack on multiplayer CoD3. It gets better but you will *never* have the same level of control. BTW....I just put in my pre-order for and adapter that will allow users to connect their mouse/keyboard to the Xbox 360. Needless to say, I can't wait.

Yeah I had a few people tell me an adapter was coming that will let you hook up your mouse and keyboard, I can't wait either now! Hah!

And yeah, if GRAW is anything to go by, I'm gonna have a hell of a time getting used to the controller here. I'm hoping RSV and GoW will be easier, and I know Dead Rising will be since it's 3rd person to begin with.

Wow, either my eyes are REALLY bad or I have to literally sit in front of my non-HDTV to even remotely see the text good - let alone outline the graphics at all :|

Is a HDTV that much of a difference?

^ You must be talking about Dead Rising. It's a known issue and Capcom doesn't seem to want to fix it...

HDTV is a big difference, by the way.

Yeah, I feel your pain...text looks extremely small and hard to read on SDTV. I don't see why that it is but I usually sit close to the TV since my TV is 19".

Heh.

I've had varying success with non-HD tv's at a friends house plugged into his old 32" it was fuzzy and horrid. At home on a new portable 14" its as clear as a bell :) not good for playing on, but till I move I have no space for anything else right now :(

Oh and on the parents HD Samsung its amazing :D

smigit don't be cheap, get the full game!

btw i think the 360 is the easiest transition for PC gamers...if it wasn't for the controller i'd swear those two were the same machine.

I recently started playing Rainbow Six Vegas so if you want to play that with me then go ahead and add me, since we are both noobies at this point, trust me I'm bad at the game too.....

Well from my expierance as a new 360 owner myself (about 2 or more weeks now) i must say my doubts of the system 1 year ago have changed. I feel that Mirosoft did one hell of a job bringing a unique and multimedia gaming machine to your home. And now with the addition of this "Media Mall" (as i would like to call it), your favorite tv shows and movies are a simple buttons clicks and joystick twirls away.

I right now own GoW and Dead Rising.

GoW of is an amazing game to say the least. The graphics are top notch and the gameplay is amazing. I literally can not stop playing multiplayer. Plus with the talks of a patch coming before xmas (we can hope), new content might be in line in the new future. Im hoping along the lines of new maps and weapons. The multiplayer content is just amazing.

Dead Rising is a good game in most aspects. But i myself was thinking of a much better game i supose from all the hype i heard. I do like it, but i think the whole saving system def puts a downer in my book which to me makes me not like it as much. I hate going the distance and then dying having to start where i left off 45 mins ago. A continous save feature would have been wonderful.

I have heard from a couple diff. guys that CoD 3 has awesome muitplayer as well. And Vegas from what it hear is amazing to. I think that in the line of games go, those 2 should be next on your list as well as they will be on mine :D

yep, get COD3 ONLY for MP, single player...i'd probably put my hopes on the next MOH.

Dead Rising was a huge letdown for me too, and i just played the demo for like ten minutes. what's with all the running around for nothing? it did have the blonde exec with the divested assets up front, but still...

and sedriss is right, the 360 offers a very amenable move for PC gamers. highly recommended. even the MS angle, i must admit, makes it feel homey.
