Fable 2 to use HAVOC physics...

sick. as long as it isnt insainly short like the first one. in fact, i would prefer they keep the engine and graphics from the first game and just make a new story line thats 4 or 5 times the length of the original game.

Really who cares... I have yet to see a single game that is actually "better" because it has physics, or even more because it has a "specific" physics engine.

Most people wouldn't even notice a difference between the most advanced and the average physics engine in actual fast paced gameplay anyway. And by most people I mean those that actually play the game and don't just go around playign with the physics, then go on a forum goign "wooo this is the best game evar, it has really cool physics, but I haven't played the atcual game yet"

Half-Life 2 wouldn't have been Half-Life 2 without the Havok physics engine. It just wouldn't have been as great without the amazing physics involving the gravity gun.

I disagree.

The phsyics didn't add anythign to HL2. then again I'm not one of the peopel all that mesmerized by the mediocreness of HL and HL2 anyway but... The game would have been just the same without the Gravity gun .

It would also have been the same with the gravity gun and any other physics engine.

It says somethign that the best feature of HL is the ability to throw saw blades around...

The gravity gun played a huge part in HL2's puzzles and gameplay, requiring you to use it in some parts (I remember it was necessary on the last level). The Havok engine just provides some of the best physics. Physics are immersive, if not one of the most immersive parts of any game. I don't think they'll play a huge, huge part in Fable 2, but they'll be noticeable I'm sure.

no it wouldn't have been the same without it. the gravity gun added a lot to the game

and if you are going to use some other physics engine, why not use the best?

the saw thing may be the best thing in HL compared to today's games, but not when it came out

Agreed. The first one had some great gameplay but was depressingly short and very linear unlike all they hype around the game would lead you to believe. The entire choosing good or evil thing wasn't as well down as I remember it being claimed to be. Still, the gameplay was really well done, and I remember really liking the graphics at the time the game was released.

It will be cool to see how well the 2nd one is. I was pretty disappointed with Lion Head's last game, Black and White 2. I was really expecting a lot more to it then what it ended up delivering.
