Ok I just bought the Pelican cooling unit for my 360 yesterday for $20 at GameStop. I have noticed the box being much cooler to the touch. But I almost bought the Intercooler but decided not too. Anyway I just wanted to get some opinions from anyone that uses either of the products. :)

BTW with the Pelican one they guarantee it to work and if it damages your console they will replace it for free! :shiftyninja:

Intercooler: http://www.nyko.com/nyko/products/?i=71

PS: Anyone that has NFS: Carbon, do you notice it freezing later into the career? This is the only game that I have doing this.

I got the Nyco Intercooler and that thing worked great for a while. Now though a couple months after I bought it that thing got so loud I thought there was something wrong with the drive in my 360 and messing up discs. But it was just those 3 fans on the intercooler. They get loud!! I play games on a 6.1 over 600 watt system and I sometimes hear it. I removed it now.

I think they are a waste of money, they have only come about because of the 1st dodgy batchs of 360's that came out which people by now should have sent back for referb/replacement and as such the problems are fixed, now companys like those are making people think that they need this product to keep their 360 in top condition and working better then it would without one...

Do you see any previous consoles needing additional cooling? no, does the 360 actually need the additional cooling? no, will the ps3? no, waste of money. Manufactures spend loads of money on testing cooling on their machines and wouldn't release somthing that borderlines on acceptable cooling.

I thought the Nyko would fry your x360? :s

They can, anything sitting between the power supply and your 360 could cause harm.

The ones that plug in to a USB port or have their own power supply are the best options.

Intercooler is supposed to be terrible (because of the power it steals from the X360)...so I've read at least. I don't have any extra cooling unit at the moment, just a well ventilated area for the X360

I chose "none" even though I have a Pelican laying around the house. I was told when I called XBOX that if I had heat issues the fans would only prolong an issue with the hardware. Also, that I should just send in the system, which is what I did and now... no issues with heat.

Microsoft said it can mess up your xbox, by not providing it with enough power.. so i'll stick with stock cooling
