Halo 3 ViDoc Goes Live Dec 20th

Pretty good, they just try and push the brutes and show off a couple of bits from the campaign mode. The brutes will work in teams this time round, i can see that being a bit of a nightmare but so long as it is harder than Halo 2, i'll be happy.

I'm kind of disappointed, I didn't really see anything innovative or something to get particularly excited about in that video. Halo's all about the multiplayer for me anyway, the single player was pretty lame in my eyes.

Good video. I'm happy to see that they're addressing the concerns with the Brutes in Halo 2. New animations look great.

Of course it wasn't as exciting as the previous two trailers but that was because they didn't show any Master Chief. (and this was plainly--just a documentary)

I think you're analyzing a whole game off of a video about one character being redesigned and only limiting yourself to that. If they refined Brutes this much, just imagine what's to come.

I was a little disappointed because it got well over hyped but it was a good video doc though.

Overhyped by the users of the Internet, not by Bungie. Bungie clearly stated the video was nowhere near finished graphics or gameplay.

What else am I to base my opinions on at this stage? If they don't want people to be excited then fair enough but I'm pretty sure the purpose of these 'vidocs' is to arouse interest, which it isn't doing for me, it's doing the opposite.

It revealed information about the campaign and the main enemies you'll be facing. That's pretty much what it was meant for. Some people are interested, some aren't. At least Bungie doesn't leave everyone out in the dust--it's nice to have these updates.

You’ll see what amounts in a way to the first glimpse at Campaign content, but don’t get too excited. Everything you see here is a work in progress, and I’m afraid you won’t be seeing anything like finished graphics. This is just a chance to talk about the design philosophy and production behind what’s going to become a very important part of the next game. But don’t worry, I’ll answer lot more questions tomorrow.

You're supposed to realize that these are pre-alpha builds, and that for pre-alpha they, in fact, look absolutely amazing and give insight to what's going on in Halo 3? Just look at Giga's captures.

4 grenade types?

I thought it was a pretty cool video. It gave quite a bit of insight into their mindframe about the brutes.

Guess the X button is still in mystery then.. That shape is different from the shield grenade though.

I do realise that and actually, if you read carefully, I've never mentioned graphics once.

for those with no 360/live

Bungie finally released its first Halo 3Videoc on the 360 Marketplace. The seven minutes long featurette is all about the Brutes, and dares to showcase some new gameplay clips of the campaign mode. For those who are far from their console right now, here is a 640 mirror. Blim's HD version will come later.

Looking at the screen caps, I would personally wait for them to release the HD version, as this one is quite blurry

I dont know about you guys, but the video was a massive let down.

Judging from the in game shots the Havok engine looks like it has returned and I am disappointed.

Why do the brutes look like Triceratops in armor?

I think Bungie may be trying way to hard to make this game cool cuz I'm no feeling the love here.

Hello it's called ALPHA! (build) Remember what Windows Vista looked like back a year before it was released? Did it look like what it looks like now? THey are prolly still using the old engine as that's stable to build off. The new engine is prolly still under construction so or fine tuning so running alpha code on a beta engine should more than likely give you errors that you wouldn't have had if you're using the final. Even windows vista started with Windows 2003 Server code before switching to the new kernel.

As for the video, i didn't see it yet but i left my Xbox downloading it today so when i go home the HD version should be all ready for me to watch!! Can't wait... 5hrs to go!
