no-sweat
Is there any way to edit the location of where firefox looks for bookmarks.html? I want to have my laptop using my desktops bookmark file thru the network. Is this possible?
IceDogg
You can use browser.bookmarks.file to point to where ever you want your bookmarks to be. in Firefox, use about:config to add the String preference browser.bookmarks.file, and set the value to C:\yourpathhere\bookmarks.html. Edit: Instructions 1. type about:config in your URL or location bar. 2. Rick click-new-string 3. Enter Preference name browser.bookmarks.file 4. when ask for value enter the location you want to store you bookmarks in. example D:\bookmarks.html Edit2: Sorry I didn't pay close enough attention. I think it will be different going through a network. Edited December 20, 2006 by IceDogg
no-sweat
Thanks IceDogg that worked like a charm. I just shared the folder bookmarks.html is in on my desktop and mapped it on my laptop then did the config thing putting X:\bookmarks.html and it works. Thanks! :D
IceDogg
Glad it helped, I was worried because of the networking part. I've never tried that myself.
