AimLXJ
I heard that if you recharge your battery often the life span of the battery will continue to decrease, is this true? and what other ways is there to increase the life span and battery usage span?
S.MULLA
simple answer .. yes. batteries hold less charge as they get charged/discharged..
AimLXJ
So, how long ( your estimate ) do you think the 360 controllers ( rehcargable cartridges ) will last?
GNRambo
Should last you a good few years...
bangbang023 Veteran Posted December 24, 2006 Veteran Share Posted December 24, 2006 Most lith-ion batteries will give you a good 1,000 charges, at least.
GNRambo
Most lith-ion batteries will give you a good 1,000 charges, at least. Is the same true about NiMH batteries? (official play and charge battery from microsoft)

lawtai
So for those that use the rechargable battery, do you only recharge after the battery's about to die, or do you just recharge after each time you play the 360?
Metal Blood
Usually if you start charging before you have properly discharged that will shorten the life of the battery! It also helps if you disconnect the battery if you are not using it for a long period of time.
Phemo
I have two battery packs and I tend to charge them when I notice the lights on the controller going nuts. I'm not sure what battery level this represents but it's obviously a low battery warning :) Anyway, I've had both my battery packs since the 360 release in the UK which is roughly a year and a month now and they're still both holding a charge for quite a long time - at least 20 hours of play from each battery. I'll take a guess and say that the battery packs should last at least a couple of years before they stop holding a decent charge.
Roger H. Veteran Posted December 24, 2006 Veteran Share Posted December 24, 2006 Li-ON batteries last longer than Ni-MH ones... Ni-MH will last a good 500 cycles and Li-ON is 1000 plus cycles. Even at 500 cycles a Li-ON batter has about 40% of it's original capacity. A Ni-MH battery will prolly crap out at about 250-300 cycles. The good thing is that the Xbox rechargable batteries last me about a 4-7 days depending so charging once a week, time 200 is atleast 4yrs (200 / 52 weeks = 4yrs) So even if it's not 4yrs i'm sure we'll get atleast 2yrs out of them. Oh and to Phenom, when the light starts "going crazy" it's at about 1/2. IF you press the guide button and look you'll see it's at 2/4 bars. Mine is flashing now and i guess i should charge it but eeh.... i'll get to it eventually. I have a play and charge kit so i'm good to go.
