banshee
So ive just got xbox live and im trying to play halo 2, but i need these extra maps. I try downloading the 'maptacular' pack which is apparantly 20,000 blocks or w/e, and on my speed it would take all night. Now the problem: i have wireless controllers, and after 10 or so minutes they disconnect. When they disconnect, the download pauses untill i reconnect the controllers and press A. Is there a way to either keep my controllers connected (as i dont want to keep moving the thumbstick every 10 mins to keep it on) or download without having to keep them on? I dont really want to buy a wired controller when i dont need one. Any help would be appreciated, cheers

Is there an option in the system settings to turn off any power saving?
Daniel.
Play and charge (AKA Wired for Wireless) wouldn't help you I don't think if it is turning its self off every 10 minutes. Is there an option in the system settings to turn off any power saving? Actually, I'm pretty sure the Play and Charge kit will stop the controller turning itself off. I had to download those maps a few days ago and I had the same problem you did, so I plugged in the controller and it seemed to work. It's annoying how you're forced to download the extra maps to play online now isn't it? Daniel
magik
Why is that annoying? They have to ensure that everyone has the maps in order to be able to match everyone up.

gigapixels Veteran Posted December 27, 2006 Veteran Share Posted December 27, 2006 why not just match up the people who dont have the extra maps? Because then the new maps wouldn't ever be distributed, and you'd be playing the same ones over and over again. I don't know about you guys, but I kind of enjoy variety. I guarantee you 95% of the new maps are downloaded by users because they were prompted to, not because they went searching for them. The maps would never get out if it worked any other way.
