Ayepecks
Man, Dead Rising is really, really hard. Even with a good save system it'd still be hard. I made it through the "first" ending and am on Overtime mode now, but it's so ridiculous I don't think I'm even going to bother -- the special forces are impossible to get by. At the beginning I thought it was kind of hard, but I was told it got easier as you go on. Well, the bosses got easier, but this Overtime mode is just stupid, if you want my honest opinion. I mean, I'd love to beat it, but give me a break. They really should have made difficulty settings.
Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted December 29, 2006 Global Moderator Share Posted December 29, 2006 well heres a helpful hint: the real megaman buster gun kills everything and i mean everything in a single hit :) i think bosses it's 2-3 hits. you get this by completing this by killing 53,000 zombies, then the game is a breeze. P.S. it is impossible.. i mean IMPOSSIBLE to beat everything in one run through. you need to beat this game like 6-7 times in order to get all endings and discover / save eveyone. One achievement at a time look for a thread me and Dirrylarry made awhile ago, we posted videos and helpful guides and tips on this game. Truely a very cool game (Y)
NoLiMiT06
I gave up on this game about 3 hrs in. Just got so repetitive but hey when the price drops to like $30 I am gonna pick it up just to chainsaw ppl and run them over with lawn mowers. :D
Ayepecks
lylesback2: Zombie Genocider is well out of my grasp at this point, however. I have 11,000 kills from the standard 72-mode, and I don't want to go back and lose all I have right now. Can I start another game, just hang out in the tunnels the whole time, and not do any of the missions and still go to the overtime mode? Edit: And I've seen some video tips on the game on Youtbe I found from another site. Edited December 29, 2006 by Ayepecks
stanley porkchop
Can I start another game, just hang out in the tunnels the whole time, and not do any of the missions and still go to the overtime mode? I think that's the trick (Y) I gave up after my second run through. I thought the game was more frustrating than it was hard. The survivors are dumb as bricks. Still fun, though. I'm thinking about playing through it again now.
TheFlusher
Good to know how this is going. I have the game, and I've come across the cult group of yellow man. Am I near the end or still long way to go?
Vykranth
Good to know how this is going. I have the game, and I've come across the cult group of yellow man. Am I near the end or still long way to go? That's the middle of the first part. About three-five hours of gameplay, I would say The game is not that hard. For the achievements, it's another story: some of them are really difficult to get: Saint, Franck the Pimp or Zombie Genocider to name a few. It's better to play a few normal game and reach Level 50 ans start new campaigns specifically for the hard-to-reach achievements and forget the story mode. For Zombie genocider, there should be videos on youtube. The summary would be get a car, go wreck havoc in the tunnel, change cars in the middle of the tunnel, exit the tunnel, get a new car, wash, rinse, repeat. Ayepecks
OK, so you can save multiple games then?

NO, you can not save multiple game files.
Vykranth
OK, so you can save multiple games then? Nope, the best way to play this game to finish the story mode once or twice, level as much as possible each time. Once you have a sufficient level, dealing with zombies should be much easier and you can go for other scoops and psychopaths. You cannot get the full set of achievements in one game. Some of them, Karate Champ, Zombie Genocider, Clothes horses are not that difficult but they are really boring ;) To get Zombie Genocider, the average time of play in 4 hours blasting zombies with cars in the tunnel. :o
StandingInAlley
I wanted to pick this game but i have SDTV and it suppose to look good only on a HDTV, hence i never picked this game. Ayepecks
OK, so now I'm confused... if I start a new game, completely new, not just die, I get to keep my level? So then I can get the Zombie Genocider achievement and start a new game with the Mega Man gun on whatever level I was at? Can I just start in overtime mode after I've gotten it, too? goji
Ya, once you finished the game once, your level from the past game will follow you into the repeat or new game. Very VERY handy.
yert*
if you are level 50 (not hard to get to) it's not that hard to beat...
Ayepecks
Sweet... I'm going to start over and go straight to the maintenance tunnel, get the key, and keep driving, and go back to Paradise to save :D
yert*
when I first played, when I lost a main scoop it ended my game. yesterday I didn't do a main scoop so all the scoops in the status page expired but I was still able to play! Did I glitch or what?

Did I glitch or what? You didn't glitch: it's normal. You can continue the game blasting zombies and making the side quests but you will not get the second half of the story.
