Pc_Madness
The wireless controller only uses the cable to charge, not send data, so its not possible.
Brandon Live Veteran Posted December 29, 2006 Veteran Share Posted December 29, 2006 Actually, it is very possible! But you need one of these: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox3...gamingreceiver/

FreqFace
grab a wired one, dude! it's got a huuuuge cable! But if you already have a wireless 360 controller (which you most likely have), then the wireless reciever would be a better choice IMO. 'Cept of course the whole waiting until it's released thing... DarkGashX
Funny thing is I just put my wireless one on my pc via play and charge and it picked it up and asked for drivers?!
giga Veteran Posted December 30, 2006 Veteran Share Posted December 30, 2006 Funny thing is I just put my wireless one on my pc via play and charge and it picked it up and asked for drivers?! That's just USB plugnplay. It won't actually work that way through the play/charge kit. =/
Pc_Madness
Its actually kinda annoying. I charge my controller via my comp, whenever I plug it in, prompted for drivers, whenever I turn the 360 off, it prompts again.

[Fosters]
There aren't many PC games which are compatible with Xbox 360 controller. You can do some tricks like map the keyboard to Xbox buttons but few games come with native Xbox support. The only ones I have played which support Xbox controller (keys + rumble) are * Prince of Persia - Warrior Within * Need for speed 3 * Built-in Vista games (except InkBall!) (please reply if you know of any more games)
