Cyberkiller
I am trying to play a divx video on my xbox 360 from my PC. Is it possible with just winxp/sp2? I tried transcode, but it says you must have windows media center edition.
spenser.d
Yeah, I use transcode 360, but I have MCE. I believe another program is TVersity (Google it, I don't know much about it except that it's been mentioned here). I think that works like transcode except you don't need MCE, but I'm not positive. -Spenser
DarkGashX
Yes transcode is awesome and TVersity was total rubbish for me, when ever I tried to stream XVID it would crash on my PC and 360 would tell me it has lost connection.
Brandon Live Veteran Posted December 31, 2006 Veteran Share Posted December 31, 2006 TVersity rocks. Try the new version released this week. It's still a beta but it's working out fantastic for me so far. Transcode 360 wasn't working too well on Vista for me the last time I tried it, but TVersity is working great even on Vista x64. Huleboeren
Im wondering if I should try streaming videos instead of just using the VGA cable thats hooked directly from my TV to the PC? What do you guys think?
Shadrack
@Huleboeren: If you have a media center PC and it is connected to your TV and you have a remote then I would just stick to that. Otherwise the xbox 360 w/ a remote is a great living room interface. Maybe consider using the xbox 360 in one room and free your computer to be put in another room for another entertainment setup.
