[Rumor Mill] Tekken 6 Bound for Xbox 360?

Recommended Posts

Considering Namco's Tekken 6 was one of the games Sony showed last E3, rumors that the franchise -- which has never appeared on another console -- is coming to the Xbox 360 with Live Support in 2007 may be premature (even though the source of the rumors is the same place the VF5 to 360 rumors began). However, the recent migration of the Virtua Fighter series to Xbox 360 could motivate Tekken developers to bring the fight (think of the franchises as mortal enemies) to another platform.

When talking about Namco and 3D fighters, expect to hear about the next Soul Calibur coming to the Xbox 360 before Tekken 6 is announced for Microsoft's platform.

I hope it's true as I want some more next-gen fighting games on the 360. DOA 4 is getting slightly old, and Tekken Tag Tournament was one of my favorite arcade games I ever played.

Ooops! Forgot the source! Sorry about that one.

hmmm i'll believe it when it's announced. while it would be nice for more games to be multi-platform, I think xbox fans shouldn't get overly optimistic by 1 or 2 franchises coming to the 360 and then hoping/assuming everything else is going to come. anything can happen and Sony is sure to shell out alot of money on their end to keep it exclusive. one way or the other 2007 looks to be a big year for gaming.

^^MGS is not coming to x360 right now....But IT might in the future...

Like MGS we will have to wait untill its confirmed or just a fake rumor....but I doubt it as its always been a Sony PS game.

Ive enevr really played tekken, like my reasoning behind VF5, the characters all seema bit slow and chunky after soul calibur, But we can only speculate till someone at the company says something.

soul cal on 360 would = creamy jeans ! lol

lol! But soulcalibur 2 was multiplatform, 3 wasnt, but it wasnt that much different or that much bigger than 2, even if the chracter customization is really quite cool and the new chonicles of swrd was interesting.

But 4 could very much be multiplatform aswell, hopefully with exclusive characters too, whihc was quite cool for 2 (pity link was the best :( )

Yes it has always been a Playstation exclusive but if Sony's Playstation 3 continues to struggle in the market then developers will look into other options to at least make some sort of profit or even just make up for the development cost. I mean why would Square Enix sell their flagship product (Final Fantasy) on a platform that is not adopted by millions so they can make enough to support their development for the next project. It is just simple thinking, let's all hope Sony stays in the game and stay away from distractions such as Blu-Ray.

I would have to agree here. Developers will follow critical mass. If the 360 has units in households they will develop for it. It's the simple reason so many stuck with the PS2 (and 1). There were a lot of units households so they had a large audience.

that would be most excellent. altho i love the DOA women, Tekken is by far more of a saner fighting product and really made the PS2 launch via Tag.

i disagree with Griffin and Ironman...it's quite possible Namco can't release any Tekken titles w/o Sony's approval. we don't know the fine legal details here.
