foobah
I use Spyware Blaster, which downloads and updates Firefox & IE sites to block, some 6000 of them or so i think. Google Spyware Blaster, javacool software I think make it. Free too :)

.Markus
Another good supplement I can recommend is AdBlock, which you can get here: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1865/ Highly recommended :)
drugo
thanks but it hasn't a list of exclusion sites? right?
+Cryton Subscriber² Posted January 6, 2007 Subscriber² Share Posted January 6, 2007 (edited) Or maybe https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3145/ But you have to make your own lists I guess. Or get someone else's. Sounds like you might want some HOSTS file list that will block lots of nefarious sites.

dragon2611
google it, we're not allowed to talk about it on neowin. I don't see why that stops us talking about adblock, Its easy enough to add an execption rule for neowin.net so that it doesn't block any of their ads. I don't use it becuase i don't mind most ads although id start using it if someone could tell me a way to make it block only those annoying popup/flash ads that get in the way of what your trying to read and make irratiting noises. Don't mind websites using banner ads i understand it helps them pay for their running costs but those annoying flash ads with sound or that appear over what your trying to read deserve to be blocked. lhnz
NoScript, CookieSafe. am I the only person who thinks these 2 extensions are overkill, and annoying?
AdverseDeviant
yes. how is it annoying? you activate em for sites you visit and thats it, you dont have to mess with it again. having control of my cookies and javascript is the main reason why i switched to firefox. https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=389495 that only applies to talking about blocking ads on neowin.
