Xbox 360 v2 : Codename Zephyr

That is of course bull****. You don't miss out on the great games at all. In fact, you can buy them whenever you want. I just recently got a 360 and I have been catching up on all the great games.

Well, then I guess people should just wait until the end of a console's lifecycle to get it. You get the best revision possible and all the games... :D

What I meant was that for the early adopters, you've gotten to experience the next generation of console gaming for a whole year while all the other console gamers were stuck with the last generation. I mean, if you're always waiting for the next best thing to come out you'll never end up getting anything at all.

x-scene is a modding group.. they modded the xbox to include an HDMI port. You can even see cracks all over the case and a piece missing.

Wrong. The existence of a new chip (HANA) discredits your theory.

HANA proves nothing... there's a ton of research that never sees the light as a consumer product and Microsoft invests billions a year on that kind of stuff... :p

so... what if HANA or Katana or Banana its just a decoy to catch people/companies leaking info? :shifty:

I bet bill gates has a 360 with HDMI

Tbh, HDMI doesn't matter to me. I haven't got a HDTV yet, and even when i do, it will only be a 720P set, which VGA or component is easily good enough for.

The content protection thing with HD-DVD's probably won't be used until at least 2010 now, by which time, we should be salivating for info on the next xbox lol.

The larger hdd is another matter though. With demos, music, and the video marketplace thing, 20GB is not enough (no matter how many times MS say it is).

Writing HANA on that chip would be the easiest thing to falsify (re: photoshop) from those pictures.

But it's being reported from X-S as being real. X-S does not condone rumors or false info. If they reported it as being real, it's real. Whether it's going to be released to end users, however, is a completely different issue.

I don't see why there is so much uproar here. Those of you who bought your console in 2005, quit complaining. You've played your console for a year + and enjoyed it im sure. Boo hoo a newer and better version comes out and somehow you are entitled to one? Please. It's called technology moves forward from year to year. This is like the PS2 to PS2 slimline because it included a network port... There really shouldn't be much complaining.

why not? what if ANA is not just an upscaler and it's actually the chip that controls what kind of signal (digital or analog) the 360 will output everytime you swap the A/V cable? nobody knew what ANA was doing in there up till recently... :shifty:

and there's a lot of stuff that will remain secret for obvious reasons... ;)

Look, I'm just saying. The box that X-S showed is definitely real. Don't get me wrong, I hope that this box never goes past prototype and that an HDMI cable comes out instead. Larger hard drive is a simple swap with the current hard drive module. Built in HD-DVD drive will never happen because it's not necessary for gaming on the 360.

The fact that the box X-S showed lacks the Universal A/V Output proves that it's a prototype, but that's all it is. What concerns me is that it looks like it needed a new chip. If ANA is capable of controlling the digital/analog signal, then why was it replaced? If it's just a revision, you'd change the revision number, not rename the whole chip. Who knows, maybe that part of the MB was photoshopped but the existence of a prototype 360 with HDMI-out can't be denied.

I'm just wondering why it's taking Microsoft so long.

Makes sense that if they are re-doing the XBox (for the smaller core processor) that they would add HDMI at that point, if the current console can't support HDMI.

Why do i keep doubting they are gonna release an updated 360 - They sold/Shipped 10.4 Million Xbox 360's, so a great deal of the market is saturated.

So how many are gonna buy another 360 for an HDMI port. There can't be a ton of people waiting THAT long to buy an Xbox.

people are still buying PS2s.

Don't forget, the PSTwo also had the built in IR sensor for remote controls. That's what I liked about it.

people still buy ps2's because it has excellent games and is much more affordable. :)

The PS2 was outdated at launch, now? It is in a lamentable position, only game I would consider one of the must haves is God of war, and that is rumoured to spill over to other platforms.

It doesn't change a thing. Unless you really wanted HDMI.

The CPU will only reduce heat and help reduce price

A smaller power brick you can buy for your current Xbox360 anyways.

And a 120GB will be external.

So really, does this have to spelt out to you?

So it does change a thing

Yes, 1 thing. But people knew that buying an Xbox360 that wouldn't have HDMI.

Has this even been confirmed now? It wasn't mentioned at all last night.

OMG LET'S SUE! But first you have to come to America. You people are ridiculously petty and it's stupidly sad.

The hell? I don't even have a HDTV, I couldn't could care less. I was just pointing out what he said.
