Slow Response Time

Recommended Posts

I tried out the 360 at a friend's house.

Did anyone else notice how slow the response time the controllers have? I was playing Halo 2 and it played much different for me. The game felt considerably slower.

Yep i notice it, it's very annoying, some people say its fine however but i guess i was expecting it as wireless keyb/mouse on a pc is also the same.

I have a wii and was worried that would be the same but even though there is still lag, its not as bad as i feel it is on the xbox or logitech wireless on PC.

I've never noticed any slow response times on my system. I connect four controllers to it all the time, and it's lightning fast in responding to my commands.

I take it this is wireless controllers only.

I'm not sure how the wireless controller works but, is it the same sort of thing like, if I point my windows media remote at my 360, but there's a bed post in the way, it won't work?

Badly worded but you know what I mean, I only have a corded controller and am looking to update some time.

Thanks,

Richard

Nah, it's not the same thing. The remotes use IR. The controllers use RF. RF signals don't rely on a direct line of sight. Think of it as being kind of like WiFi.

I'm using 2 wireless controllers and I see no controller lag, check if anything wireless is getting in the way, the signals could be messed up because last time when I plug a VAIO wireless thing onto my Xbox 360 my character started shooting by itself :p

I'm pretty sure the controllers work on wifi.. Please correct me if i'm wrong

Obviously remote controls use infrared and a obstruction would prevent it from working. Wifi on the other hand can travel through most household obstructions

Or it could be in your head... Coming from those consoles could have you used to something else.

Truth be told I was always amazed from day one at how responsive the controls where and I was impressed at how they are constantly connected. They 've done an amazing job with them. Playing Nintendo wii I had problems with the controllers disconnecting and syncing was a pain in the ass.

I really haven't noticed anything slower...I've played almost all of the 360 games and original xbox games and have noticed any lag outside of one game...Tony Hawk 4 running on 360 either always lagged or crashed for me..

I have a wired controller and two wireless ones. I don't notice a difference at all. They're always accurate and responsive. It'd be impossible to pull off moves in Street Fighter 2 if there was a delay. I can hadouken all day long with the 360 controllers (yes, wireless ones too).

Maybe you all are used to it. But I'm used to my PS3/Xbox (Wired and BlueTooth) and just noticed. It may have been his box, I don't know.

It could be a delay on his TV. What kind of TV does he use?
