New Study Reveals Japanese Gamers Think very lowly of Xbox 360

Recommended Posts

A new small-scale study conducted by Macromill denotes that a huge 71 percent of those surveyed are not considering the Xbox 360 for purchase. In terms of perceptions on the Wii and PS3, it's pretty tight with only 17.4 and 18.1 percent not considering a purchase.

Hmm... close minded? Basically they are tied to their own brands and won't try something new. I can't understand that, because at least in North America all brands are popular!

You also have to look at the ratings system in Japan and how much harder it is to sell "z" (aka M rated) rated games there. Not that should be blamed completely, but it doesn't help either.

prejudice is the scourge of humanity. first time you hear someone referring to the 360 as the gaijin machine you'll realize that, too.

i do want to add that there are somewhat legitimate reasons relating to this, tho...most of the titles for 360 are natively in English and follow the subtleties of Western culture...it's an impediment. just like Asian cinema isn't quite as popular in the West as it should be.

Japanese don't like American things..

Americans love Japanese things...

i could of told you this much.. of course xbox360 doesn't stand a chance in Japan.. but sales are picking up.. but Sony and Nintendo (no matter what is released) will always beat Microsoft in Japan.

Japan is no longer the dominate market for video game consoles... that title goes to America and Europe..

a recent study from MIT has discovered an amazing fact!!! from every 100 people they interviewed 50 were half of the sample... :shifty:

A recent survey discovered that 1 in 2 people make up half the population.
