Question - can two people listen in on Live?

Recommended Posts

Basically, I was wondering if I plug another headset 2 into the second controller, could that headset listen in to the same thing as headset 1?

Thanks.

My guess is No. But like I said that is a guess.

I do not know for sure, as I have never tried it, but I think it is only the controller for which the main player is playing on that can hear anything .

But then there are certain games that let other people sign in on their live account, so maybe they can hear their own conversation?

Interesting question, but I can only guess and not say for certain what the correct answer is. By the lack of responses, I am guessing no one else knows either.

i wish i knew too, hmm... well i'm at work now so i can't tell but i would say so. The reason guests usually don't talk is cuz most of the time they don't have a mic, you have to buy extra mics and also a controller... you only get 1 with the 360.

AFAIK, it is game dependant. It will definitely work if you have TWO live accounts. However, signing in on a guest account (as the second controller) one may or may not get voice, it depends on the game. For example, in Halo 2, the guest accounts cannot hear out of the controller headset, instead the sound is routed to the speakers so everyone can hear (you can turn it off of course). I believe it's possible for the guest accounts to hear out of the second controller in Gears of War, however I'm not sure, so don't quote me.

I know that when the wireless headset was released it said that up to 4 headsets can be connected to an xbox... so i am going to agree with magik and say if the game supports it... it should work... im guessing if 2 people sign in to live on one xbox through GoW everything would be working.... guess we have to wait until someone tries it

I know in GoW if you hit the Guide button and go to Personal Settings you can choose to have both the headphones and the TV speakers play voice. He wouldn't be able to talk, but he could listen.
