Haven't people learned by now to wait for IN-GAME screens?

hahahaha! Did you just buy a Playstation 2 or something? There are better looking games out for the '360 at this time. Those graphics aren't "Unrealistic" to be in-game.

No, I'm actually a 360 owner, since you asked.

If you don't already understand the concept of "puffing" a game's graphics, I'm certainly not going to explain it - it's something that has gone on for a while now, with Sony being the worst offender typically.

And, yeah, there may be games that look better than that for the 360, but I don't see ANY indication that those screens are in game. Hence, I don't believe the game will look like that. It's just irritating that people get all excited about pretty pictures.

Look at the Bat in the first picture, and look at the nose on the guy in the third picture.

They are in-game. If they were Pre-rendered, they are the worse ones I've seen..

This doesn't do the Xbox360 any justice, at all.

It actually does. Considering baseball games are a lot harder to do than your average fps and such since all 10 - 13 players on the field all have to have unique textures and meshes loaded, the crowd is rendered in 3D, and the stadiums are very vast open spaces which will naturally consume power to render. On top of that, any sports games require liquid smooth animation and framerate in order to deliver the experience. Last year they failed to polish the game and it frustrated me to no end, so I'm really looking forward to this. This will most likely be the title that upgrades me to a 360.

And it irritates me when people are so negative that they feel the need to infect every possible thread that has a glimmering hope of positivity going for it.

These screens look insane! More here.

Look at the sweat marks on the hat.

Those shots look excellent :D

true dat. there's no need to come out and be all hostile. if you think the pics look bad, say that. don't go YAWN and stuff, it can be insulting.

anyway, i think these pics look good but i do agree that they're not off-the-screen shots, but rather saved images...that's always the case. they haven't used "real" screenshots in like 20 years, which means this may not look like that on our screens.

So, take for example Gears of War. Or Call of Duty. Or Rainbow Six Vegas.

These tax the 360's engine less than a baseball game?

i think bangbang wanted to say sports titles are simulations and thus obliged/expected to be more lifelike whereas action titles (including WWII ones) can take greater liberties.

plus those focus on the action so players may not have as much time to stop and evaluate the textured roses.

So have you been over to the thread where the videos are? Would you be big enough to come back here and eat your words?  :D

When timing is literally everything, yes, they do because they need to have enough leftover power to make sure there are no frame rate variations.

When you get used to watching baseball on HDTV then you would know that the fans in the background would be in better focus. I'm always amazed that HDTV cameras seem to keep for near and far objects in relatively good focus.

The first screen shot seems to emulate the blur of standard definition TV.

That's probably going to be for the dramatic replays.

One thing that amazes me, in the videos posted in another thread, is not only the fully 3D crowd, but the individual fans walking around the stands.

I have been anxiously awaiting the "next-gen" baseball games... I seriously cannot wait for a good baseball game that takes use of the Wii controller... Wii Sports Baseball cannot satisfy me. I know the graphics look amazing in the screens, but the potential of actual "involvement" in the game via the Wii makes me very excited.
