Any ideas why its doing this?!?

The_Decryptor Veteran Posted November 19, 2005 Veteran Share Posted November 19, 2005 define "shaking" I'm using watercolor lite here, and i havent had any graphical problems with Firefox at all.
saxondale.
My way i fixed it was to take out the bookmark toolbar thing
fpd
Try customising the toolbars or resetting them - I found this used to happen with certain arrangements of toolbar buttons. Also try disabling extensions, the shaking may be the result of an incompatibility with the new firefox version.
supernova_00
either hide the bookmark toolbar via view->toolbars->bookmark toolbar, or add a bookmark to the bookmark toolbar

El_Cu_Guy
As you didn't really define "shaking" I'll give you some advice I gave at another forum. The problem wasn't "shaking" but rather everytime he opened a new tab the current window resized. It was rather annoying as he always like his windows maximized (me too, I utlize the taskbar or ALT+TAB). The problem was that some sites try to maxmize the window. If it is already maximized well you get the point. The trick was to disable some of the advanced options for Javascript.
DigitalE
I often have problems with a shaky screen when I change VS's. It sometimes fixes it when I restart Firefox..
funkprod
i have had the same problem with my firefox, but i think i may have fixed it. i used window blinds.. i am sure that you can use alot of different programs that are gonna do the same thing. the problem we are basically having is a java error when the pages are loaded up through firefox, that there is one pixel difference that what it is used to, making the screen shake. this is a problem with the theme and not really firefox.. but in windows blinds, i clicked on basic settings, and on the window that comes up next.. i clicked on preformance.. and disabled hyperpaint, and windows animations. i clicked and applied my settings and i havent had anymore problems, even with the same theme or blind. if this doesnt work for you.. it is still a problem with the theme or blind.. try tweaking some of the settings to try to get it to stop. or unistalling the theme will also work. hope this helps.
deck
I found something interesting when playing with Firefox 2 today. I deleted all the links from the link bar. Then the page started to shake. The window was stable, but the web page was jittering up and down. I created a new bookmark for the links bar and the page started jittering. I deleted, and the page start jittering again. I closed Firefox and reopend and the page didn't jitter. Then I visited another site, and the page started jittering again. It was odd. Not sure if it's just me. SwingKid
I'm not sure if this problem is actually connected to visual styles (though, not being too educated with computers, that's the conclusion I have come to) so I apologise if this is in the wrong place. Anyway, since I installed the Recall Basic 6.6 visual style, the scroll bar in the my Firefox browser has been 'jumping', causing the page to jolt up and down continuously. Sometimes this doesn't occur. But, as now, it's getting annoying. Any help would be appreciated.

metallithrax
I get this, but only when reading a thread that contains a post by Fred Derf or Curme. I think it's their animated avatars and ad***ck that cause it (in my case anyway). Censored by me so not to upset people by talking about something I shouldn't. SwingKid
Thanks a lot. It appears to have solved it, it was something to do with the tool bars which were being displayed. If I have any further problems I'll report back! Thanks again.

thefonz
Hello, Ive installed Firefox 2 from the mozilla site but for some reason the text/photos displayed on the browser window seem to "shake" (ie: jump up and down at random intervals). Is this a known issue? Its very annoying and I have to use IE7 at the moment...
