Shadrack
Not every odd-ball resolution is supported. Just get as close as you can in the aspect ratio that you want and call it a day. I have been more pleased with near 720p resolutions (I run mainly at 1280x1024) as oppose to 1080ish resolutions. Gears of War, for instance, looks more aliased at the higher resolutions. I'm fairly certain that games lower their anti-alias settings to keep the frame rates up at the higher resolutions. I prefer high anti-aliasing at a lower resolution as that will generally look better. IN MY OPINION!
Novaoblivion
I have a 1680x1050 LCD as well and I am currently using 1280x1024 with the Widescreen option on it it looks fine to me :). I wish they would support this res as its pretty common I think but oh well.
neoadorable
i'm sure they'll be adding support for 1050 soon. in the meantime have it to the max you can fit. not ideal, tho, i know.
