WMP 11 in HD maximized beyond window dimensions...

Recommended Posts

Not sure what's going on but whenever I try to play a WMV HD stream in quicktime, the screen gets maximized beyond the window to the point that I only see about 25% of it and no controls. Anyone know what's going on?

I dont have these problems with Quicktime but I rather fix the problem than default to another player

First you say it's an issue with WMP, then you say your playing it in Quicktime, then you say you don't have a problem with Quicktime.

And i do suspect you have a 200% scaling applied somewhere.

Huh? I'm just saying it's a non issue with the quicktime player - just WMP11 when playing WMV HD. I don't have the player set to zoom in anywhere. I tried looking through all the options but I couldn't find a way to set the default size to 100%. I had the same problem even in Vista where WMP11 is the default player

Got a screenshot? What's your resolution, and the resolution of the video you are trying to play?

720p video I think. My resolution is 1680*1050. And fyi, this is not a problem with WMP10

I take it I need a app that can take screenshots with video still playing but I think this is enough. The first shot is a video playing in hd. No controls as its hidden inside the window. Also, what you can't see is that I tried zooming to 100% then to 50% and what ends up happening is that I can only see the corner of the video. You can almost see the outline of the video in the shot

The second screenshot is when I'm playing a regular video. No problems
