Ayepecks
Didn't want to make two separate topics, but according to Xbox 360 Fanboy, Crytek confirmed a version of Crysis for the 360 that will be different than the PC version (whew-who!). It won't have all the bells and whistles of the PC version, and gameplay is also going to be different as well. Crysis News: http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/01/15/no...r-360/#comments Also, a recent post revealed that Zootfly (they had a PC game in development that was eventually canned a while back... some of you may remember them for that -- at least I do) is making a Ghostbusters title, but no title was revealed. They're working on PC and 360 games, however. Videos included! FreqFace
Awww, that's a shame. Then again, I suppose it's gives people effectively two Crysis' to play, and it still might kick ass (360 version). I simply could not afford (or willing to pay for) a PC that can run Crysis at it's full potential.
goji
Score 1 point for PC gamers. I think I will be going broke in 2007.
Ayepecks
I, for one, am not upgrading for Crysis anytime soon. I'm fine playing a less graphically intensive version on the 360. Doesn't bother me a bit. I'm sure it will still look amazing.

By that time PC Crysis might be long out and everyone has a suitable PC for it. :shiftyninja:
LOC Veteran Posted January 15, 2007 Veteran Share Posted January 15, 2007 I have an interview with the Crytek people sometime later this month or early Feb. I'll ask specifically about a 360/PS3 version and what sorts of things they will have to cut out/change to make it viable on the consoles :)

I mean, look at the standard PCs for sale now... only now are we seeing mainstream PCs that run Far Cry! EDIT: Am and I the only one excited about Ghostbusters? lol
ToneKnee
Just watched the Ghostbusters second video. I must say, that's the most dodgiest car physics I've seen.
Huleboeren
The difference is probably due to areas which the X360 cannot handle (DirectX wise). Are monsters confirmed? :s Thats what I hated about Far Cry

Ayepecks
It looked like it was driving on ice, and if the wheels were Ice as well! :p As I said, that's likely how it was intended to look. I don't think they would release a video of a guy sliding around the whole time while still staying in control and on the street ;) Probably to give it that trendy hard-to-control-chase-scene look. Chadwick
One of the reasons why I moved to a laptop, then purchased an Xbox 360. same here. Went with a powerbook too, no reason for a windows machine which for my use offered only gaming as an incentive, with the 360 I don't need my laptop for gaming. I'd rather have a 360 specific version that we know WONT lag, with its graphics pushed to the limits, than a PC version that I'd have to run on the lowest settings, its going to be like doom 3 all over again. If you combined COD3's graphics and folliage with Crysis' physics it would be awesome on a 360, and you know it will look better than COD3 which is already impressive. So how can you possibly not expect the 360 version to great?
Septimus
Who knows, the 360 version may surprise us graphically. I doubt it will be too disappointing.

neoadorable
Crysis is something i think we should play on the PC. as for Ghostbusters, yeah, im certain the franchise is due for a comeback. you realize nostalgia doesn't go very far anymore? by the time you miss something, they bring it back! It's EA. They'll do something with it for the consoles even if it ruins the game. More money in their pockets. -Spenser
