Meshuggah
Well, I hope this IPTV box that he's talking about only costs 5 dollars like my current DVR via my Time Warner company. I am not signing up for a 2-year contract at all, because I would rather keep my DVR if that is the case.

I didn't listen to the interview, but I assumed he meant that you'd pay for the service (like you probably pay $50/month or whatever to Time Warner), but instead of receiving a standard IPTV box, you'd get an Xbox 360 which can do everything the IPTV box can do and much more. Yeah, dunno what you (mind you I didn't listen to this) are talking about, but the 360 is the box. You already paid for it. The only thing you have to pay for is the service. -Spenser
TokyoKiller
If this is true, this is a smart move from Microsoft's part. If people adapt IPTV more Xbox 360's will be deployed thus more units sold/in homes.
WelshBluebird
How would this work? Since the IPTV thing has nothing to do with MS, its provided by different providers, and doesn't have to have a monthly fee. (btw, haven't got time to listen to the link). bdsams Veteran Posted January 18, 2007 Veteran Share Posted January 18, 2007 so basically you sign up for cable tv, but instead of them giving you a set top box you get a x360? Not a bad deal but i wonder how many non-gamer people will go for this
