After reading about Gears Of War selling 3 million copies found here, it made me wonder how much money I have spent approximately in regards to everything I own for my XBox 360.

Keep In Mind my list below is a very general one.

For example a lot of the games I have owned, I returned a decent amount of them for credit towards the purchase of a new game, so that new game was not full price.

I also bought a good amount of the games from Gamefly after renting them, so they were discounted as well.

Finally, a good amount of the accessory items I received, such as the HD_DVD Player, were gifts.

However for the sake of this poll, and just out of curiosity, I am roughly "guesstimating" the sum total price of everything I have owned/still own based on the the premise it was full price.

I am also not adding tax and/or electricity, although GOJI_GKing2000 makes a valid point below about it.

Here is my list.

  • Original Bundle I Purchased - $600
  • Approximately 25 Games $1500
  • Extra Wired Controller - $40
  • HD-DVD Add On - $200
  • Wireless Headset - $50
  • Two Plug N Play Kits - $40
  • Live Vision Camera - $40
  • X Box Live Yearly Subscription - $50
  • Gamefly Rental Subscription (Yearly) - $240
  • Marketplace Points - $80 (approximate)

Total = $2840 :pinch:

I have to say I am truly shocked at my list. I had no idea it has potentially been that much money spent!!!

No wonder why I have not upgraded my computer!

Obviously this poll is for XBox 360 Owners only. Anyone feel free to use it's format for the Wii or PS3. (Y)

EDIT - I just realized I have not included my LCD HDTV I got as well, which was definitely influenced by the 360 itself. DAMN!!

With my new TV included (which 1000 was a gift for me and my fiance), and my new Receiver* and all the new cables ($500) ...

Updated Total with "*Entertainment Center" = $4940  :o :|

Games - $660 (11 games bought at retail)

Xbox Live Marketplace Content - about $150

I'm surprised as well at the total spent but it's been worth it. And this has been in only the 7 months I've had the console!

I guess if you have the money than spend it, if not than your in a bit of trouble, i don't see it as a bad thing just think your better off spending it on something decent that putting it through a pokie machine or other forms of gambeling.

Heh...I've thought about this a lot since I bought my 360.

So the list:

Original purchase:

360 Core $300

20GB HDD $100

2 Extra Wireless Controllers: $100

DOA4 $60

Total: $580

Since then:

Plug n' Play kit: $20

Headset: $15

Extra Battery: $12

XBL Vision Gold Pack (Black Friday Special): $50

Xbox Media Remote: $30

VGA HD Cable: $40

6 other games: $360

Xbox Live 12mo.: $50

XBLM Content: ~40

Total: $617

Grand Total: $1197

And keep in mind, I'm a college student who's not supposed to have money, so having spent that on this console alone in 1 year is amazing, not to mention ridiculous. Its been worth every penny :D

My list: (ALL IN USD, converted using XE.com)

Xbox 360 Premium Holiday Bundle - $427

4 Games - $138

Plug and Play Charge Kit x 2 - $34

2 Year Extended Futureshop Warranty - $76

Extra Wireless Controller - $0

Total: $675 without taxes / $769 with taxes

I got more than what I paid for, first of all I traded in the games I got with my initial purchase except two of them (My bundle came with GRAW, Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged, GUN, TheOutfit and Ridge Racer 6). I traded in the games for store credit except the first two, then I bought PGR3 for $12 using the store credit which came with 3 months of Xbox Live Gold and 1250 MS points. I applied some store credit on Fight Night Round 3 too, but I had to add cash. Also with Gears of War, they did not have Ridge Racer 6 in stock so they gave me credit towards it so I paid only $45 for GOW, and then the day the I bought my Xbox 360, I told to my friend to pick up an extra wireless controller for me when he was at Futureshop and they forgot to scan it (he bought other things too so they thought they charged him.) so that was for free technically as we realized that they didn't scan it 2 weeks later.
