If he took the words right out of your mouth and those bolded parts are what you think, I suggest re-reading my post and reading the response directly after that from me.

My comments still stand. Nice try.

I'm not too familiar with what that domain thing means.... what does it mean?

The guy isn't using real contact information, so it's probably just a hoax. :)

How can they stand when you two obviously completely misread my quote? For instance, you bolded this part:

"What I don't understand is how you think that MS sticking it to him would be funny, but him sticking it to MS isn't funny. That seems somewhat hypocritical."

I never said anything remotely like that.

Nice try, though.

I guess we can take one positive from your past two posts: their brevity has ceased you from your childish insults.

Actually, the way you worded your first comment is why our comments stand. It's not our problem if you'd wish to retract your comments. :)

Ah, so now we get back to the good old magik.

I said the following:

"And you know what's the funniest part of all? Microsoft doesn't even have to send it back in that. They can tell him to come there and pick it up because they changed their policy. Now that would be funny to me. Some grown man whining and bitching about having to spend $2 (which he has already spent more than that on creating the website -- now that is the definition of ironic) being a jerk to people who have no influence what-so-ever on the policy."

So it's my responsibility to make sure you can read things and not jump to unbelievable conclusions? That's a riot. I said it would be funny and ironic if they decided not to send it back because they are allowed to change policy without warning. The quoted comments above were entirely keeping with my responses thus far -- I think even you can agree with that. It's not hypocrtical at all, since I never thought the original idea was funny, and since I said it was a waste of time. I never said they'd be sticking it to him. I said they'd be legally just in doing so. Read it again, pal.

If you wish to actually read my post, I wouldn't hold it against you if you'd care to retract your comment that was fueled from no error of my own, but from you not reading.

No, it's your job to write unambiguous sentences. And if you fail to do so, don't blame others for interpreting it at face value.

Besides, it is in his legal right to ship the console in whatever box he wants to ship it in, is it not? You thought it'd be funny for them to have the guy pick up his own box. How is that not along the lines of doing something out of the ordinary, as this guy is allegedly doing?

Think about it, it can go either way... but, either way, it's irrelevant. This whole thing is a joke and the bottom line is you're taking it way too seriously and you're so easily offended by my posts for who knows what reasons. Just chill out dude, this doesn't affect your bottom line, does it?

Cheer up, Ayepecks, we're all still here. :D

magik, please reach for the nearest dictionary and look up the word "unambiguous." After doing this, proceed to slap yourself a few times with a dictionary (go for a thick one -- don't go with the little, wussy, paperback Webster's). I don't know how much clearer I can make my sentences when I never state anything about Microsoft "sticking it" to someone.

Tell me, how do you not comprehend that I was talking it being ironic (which I actually said) and that Microsoft was legally justified to do so (which I actually said), but somehow you jump to conclusions and blame me "unambiguous sentences"? Sorry buddy boy, but it's hard to write "unambiguous sentences" for someone who clearly doesn't bother to read your sentences to begin with! I don't know how much more clear I can make it for you.

I am arguing what I actually said by repeating myself. You are aguing what you think I said by inferring things. Don't. You're not good at it, as is apparent from us even having this conversation.

And you're right -- it's his legal right to send it in whatever container he wants. I never said it wasn't. Mind telling me why you're even bringing this up? All I said was it was stupid. I never said he wasn't legally justified in doing so. I said Microsoft was legally justified in changing the policy on him.

I love how everytime we get into a debate, you come on here telling me how serious I am taking things. magik, maybe you should start realizing that you're participating in this conversation just as much as I am. But thanks for resorting back to your childish ways -- I was starting to get worried about you for a second there! If I'm taking things 'too serious', then maybe you should sit back and read your own posts as well. I don't see how someone being a jerk about having to pay $1 to buy a cardboard box and going out of his way to hastle someone who will have no say in changing policy is going to help situations, sorry.

And, for the record, let me make this easy for you:

The parts in bold are the things I actually said. The parts in rainbow-colored fluorescent lights are the parts you claim I said. Oh, wait, there are none of those!

so tired of these dumb crusades to "prove a point" or "principal".... life sucks sometimes and making a huge deal about it so this guy can get his 15 min of fame is just rediculous... whats crazy is its a pretty good possibility this whole thing is a huge scam and so many people are "taking sides" and arguing about something that will end up being fake... all i can say is dont get sucked in

Im in 2 minds. If I was on the phone and was told policy changed, I would be serious ****ed off. Knowing me I wouldnt even have the box still. Sorry but I dont have OCD. Im not going to put boxes away for every item I buy. But in the end you need to accept policy does change and you have to live with it. Never bet against the house.

^ Again: Why do you get so worked up? :)

It's funny that the person who intentionally tries to rile people up by filinging insults would ask why a person gets worked up.

Actually I think he was referring to you owning them Sony noobs in the forum above us

And, I personally think this is HILARIOUS. I really hope this is true. Every time I see these 40 foot steel containers I'm gonna instantly think "The Big Box Project"

You could really use a new line, considering everytime you've used that one you've failed to back it up.

That's called a "joke" or "sarcasm," magik. I didn't resort to name calling or anything like that, such as how you have done in every single topic. Also, last I checked, that was in response to your insults.

Nice of you to edit your posts, but it still doesn't involve me flinging insults.

Oh? Where?

BTW, just FYI: A 'joke' or 'sarcasm' usually are intended and/or interpreted as insults. But of course you knew that, which is why you posted that in the first place.

magik: It's not that hard, all I have to do is go to the second post in which you responded to me:

Are you really that naive? Apparently.

There was more in the quote as well, but you edited it out, as you can see by referencing that quote.

I can go back to other topics as well, if you want a history of your responses to me.

Never said you weren't allowed to edit your post, either. It's just amusing to me that you edit it after I respond to it.

I'm curious how many of the individuals who think this "isn't" funny or has value are only taking that position because they are massive Microsoft fanboys. Don't get me wrong, not all of you obviously.

Now just to state, I've worked in the same field as the people at that support center, and it is VERY annoying when you get angry/disrespectful customers.. But if I had this guy on the line, I would have enjoyed it greatly. I love satire, and this is definitely a great idea.

Now is it a hoax? Possibly. Or he just didn't want to give his contact information incase of harassment/etc.

But I have one more thing to state.. Don't dismiss the power of the internet. If something becomes big enough, gets enough people talking about it, it might just force the company to rethink their policy. Of course this won't cost Microsoft much even if they do accept the box and ship it back, but that's not the purpose of that site.. It's humour, and possibly policy-changing if it becomes powerful.

@ Ayepecks: being naive is not necessarily an insult. It is just a measure of your innocence and/or lack of understanding in a certain topic; in this case, shipping. :)

@ MadFerIt2006: You bring up some great points and I think a lot of people can learn a thing or two from your perspective. (Y)
