Roger H. Veteran Posted January 21, 2007 Veteran Share Posted January 21, 2007 i don't think it can work as there's nowhere to put the code in the dashboard unless they've since upgraded the dash after i got my 360 and sold my original box. I was wondering if MS would do it but i dunno.. doesn't seem so.

LiGhTfast
i used a code from a xbox1 starter pack on my 360 and worked fine. Dont think it matters its 12 months live and doesnt matter what console you use it on

sweetham
There was no such thing as XBL "silver" on the orginal xbox. There was just XBL or whats now known as "Gold" on the 360. So yes the code will work on the original Xbox. XBL on Xbox = XBL Gold on 360.
CNSBarry
If the code does work - don't forget you'll still need to tie a Credit Card to your XBOX Live account, you don't need to do that with the 360 but with XBOX you do.

Jeston Veteran Posted January 21, 2007 Veteran Share Posted January 21, 2007 I don't for a fact whether or not the code will work on the Xbox 1, but I have no doubt at all that it will be fine. I can say that even after getting a 360 and going on live with a Gold membership for over a year I can still play Xbox 1 on Live.
Meshuggah
Has the Xbox Team Confirmed this? i mean the Xbox live gold subscription working on the normal xbox if you want a confirmation, go to xbox.com/forums. There's no "official xbox team" on neowin. only two guys from MS :D however, xbox live = xbox 360 gold, so yes, yes it will work
sweetham
Has the Xbox Team Confirmed this? i mean the Xbox live gold subscription working on the normal xbox Dude seriously easy math: XBL on Original Xbox = XBL Gold on 360. If you have an old XBL account you can convert it to an XBL Gold account, and it WILL be backwards Compatible with XBL on the Xbox. I have done this personally with both of my XBL accounts. In fact I dont even own a 360 yet, I used someone elses but the accounts still work the same. MS made it alot easier than you are thinking. If you dont wanna belive any of us I would suggest what Meshuggah said, check out the xbox.com support.

El-Diablo
it wont work dude, they've told you. the key probably has a different alogorithm than the orig Xbox can identify. But the 360 obviously has the ability to read both types of alogorithms
FreqFace
Well, I tried an Xbox 1 code on my 360 - doesn't work. The code is several years old, but still, it should work. I want my 2 month trial! lol
El-Diablo
i actually think those trials had expiry dates on them, as when i had my old xbox i tried using it on it and it didn't work.
