crazzy88ss
I work at RadioShack, and I had a customer come in and ask how to set up a wireless network for their xbox to play xbox live. I sold her a wireless router and a USB wireless adapter to plug into the xbox. That should all work, right? (I don't own an xbox, so it was mostly a good guess)
+vlsi0n Subscriber¹ Posted January 23, 2007 Subscriber¹ Share Posted January 23, 2007 I would think that'd do the trick :D. As long as they were compatible a/b/g/n
magik
Yeap, should work fine, don't fret. :D
Pilsbury
Assuming it's a 360, I'm nearly 100% certain only the Microsoft wireless adaptor works. The other solution is a wireless gaming adaptor.
.KICK
That won't work, you need a bridge or use the official Xbox Adapter. Or you can connect via a pc/laptop which is wireless
Roger H. Veteran Posted January 23, 2007 Veteran Share Posted January 23, 2007 well which wireless USB adapter did you sell her? Some generic thumb USB thing? IF so then nah, they will be back soon :) The router is fine and should be good but they'll need either the older xbox wifi adapter or the newer 360 adapter. I think those are the only 2 that works. magik
Oh, I assumed you sold her the Xbox-branded Wireless adapter (either the Xbox v1 or Xbox 360 adapter), that would of course work. If you sold her a generic USB wireless-thumb adapter then that may or may not work. Basically, if it has the 'Xbox Certified' seal, it will of course work. Almost any Ethernet-to-wireless adapter will work as well (it may take a lot more configuring, however). And the Microsoft Xbox branded adapters will all work without fuss.
