Crackdown Demo

Recommended Posts

I must say, this game is really fun for me, I went straght online and started throwing bodies at people and sniping with my friends, great game IMO

Anyone wanna join with me later on? My controller battery just died out while I was sniping, I kept pressing the RT and went, how come my character isen't shooting? So I looked down and all 4 of the lights were out lol, so i'll be back on the game in 2 hours xD. GT: LiteralShip

Lol, hey, is there any way to zoom in like use your scope on the sniper? The only way I know is autotarget but thats it :p

Yeah You can use the scope by pressing up or down on the D-pad. I actually prefer using the aim function, because then you can jump and you still have your aim locked at the target, so you can take him down while you are jumping around.

One more question :p, how do you do super jump?!@?!?!?!

Hmm... Havent done it yet, but I think you'll have to level up your agility. I leveled up three times and was able to jump over a building but I still havent been able to jump up in the sky like they had on one of their videos. I'll play with that when I get off work today.

I do not think you can do the super jump, as I maxed out my agility according to the demo (go to the amusement park for easy agility power ups in a small area), and message was spoken that said I had maxed out, and although I was able to jump pretty damn high and very far, I know it is nothing yet compared to the videos I have seen. Really looking forward to this game now, and I do not want to play to much as I am just going to have to repeat it all in the retail version (was a mistake I made with the Saints Row demo) but I am going to hopefully try the CoOp out in a little bit.

maxed out my agility this time around...it gets damn fun... Just do what I do and dont play the story line, rather explore the city and just have some fun. I want this to retail, because damn...it's so much more fun than Saint's Row.

I was pleasantly surprised by the demo.

I reserved the game for the H3 beta thingy, and was only expecting a so-so experience. From what I've seen so far, however, it's shaped up to be my favorite GTA-sandbox inspired game ever, by a longshot. Actually, I've never even remotely liked GTA or any of its clones before this game. It's actually really fun.

if you dont upgrade yourself there is no time limit. As soon as you upgrade 2 things, or one thing twice, it goes to 30 mins :/

January 23, 2007 - It's time to Crackdown on crime. Microsoft's hefty (1.3 gig) demo of Crackdown is now available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace for Gold members. The demo features the full city available in the retail release, coming February 20, but comes with a time limit.

In single-player, gamers have one hour to explore Pacific City and quickly power up their character. The upgrade system has been sped-up for the demo, so expect to leap tall buildings within the hour. You can toss cars, shoot crooks and explore the city for 60 minutes. Once your time is up, you can restart the demo, but your skills flatline and you must rebuild your character once again.

In co-op, you and a friend (or handsome stranger), explore Pacific City together. Once you've leveled up your abilities twice, a 30-minute timer begins. It's not clear why the timing rules for the demo differ between single-player and co-op, but either way, you have a decent amount of time to enjoy what Crackdown has to offer.

Silver members can download the Crackdown demo next week. Everyone can play Crackdown without a time limit (and with a ticket into the Halo 3 beta) on February 20.

That text is taken from above, and I sincerely truly am asking, does it really feature the full city????

The reason I ask is I ran into a blue wall on the Bridge, so am I to assume that blue wall is in the full game as well??

If so, that is the most bootleg thing I have ever seen in a video game.

Here is to hoping there are barriers in the demo, as if not, that really is a joke.

no...i read that too and it's wrong. I read in an interview that the full city will be fully open when you first start the game. Disregard that.

The Saint's Row demo had red barriers and you couldn't get through them either, but in the full game they were not present. I found some interesting ways to get through that red barrier though, one ended in making the game crash, lol. :p. I'm going to screw around with the same idea (it involves cars) with this demo and see what I can do.

Cool, got me worried for a second, but I didn't think there was anyway in hell there would just be blue walls in the retail game.

I too remember the Saints Row "fixes," in fact I think I recall you were the person who posted about them at one point. Regardless, let me know if you have any success with them, as I already wasted about 10 minutes trying them already in this demo. ;)

This demo was frickin' brilliant! Definitely infinitely times more fun than Saints Row. I thought Saints Row was kind of lame to tell you the truth, but I'm hooked on Crackdown. So fun to go jumping around and getting instant rewards (in the form of orbs) for doing things. So cool! Can't wait to get this, the Halo 3 Beta invite will just be a bonus. :D
