Crackdown Demo

Have you a set budget for each certain type of game or what? :p

You can always play both my man.... Plus it'll be a while till GTA4 comes our way.

No, no, no.....no, no, NO

There can only be one true sandbox game

"One sandbox to rule them all!" :o

WOW. Looks like I'm the only one who didn't like it.

I Played the demo until the timer ran out and found the whole thing very frustrating.

Didn't like the way you have to put the cross hairs exactly on an enemy to be able to lock onto them.

There seemed to be gangs everywhere and when you get near one of the "boss" characters there seems to be a never ending stream of gang members.

The voiceover guy seemed to never shut up

Overall I found it boring and repetitive.

I was looking forward to this game, but now I'm not so sure. I think I will give it a few more goes before I decide, perhaps it will grow on me.

The autotarget thing is very easy, all you do is keep holding down LT and wave that crosshair like crazy, it's not that hard.

I played the demo last night, and I didn't think it was that good. The only thing I liked about it is that Celldweller is in the soundtrack.

I also really disliked the game, I thought it was a very bad and chessey GTA clone. The car handling was horrible and pretty much everything about the game was unappealing to me.

how can anybody compare this game to gta? the only thing that is the same is that it's an open world, you can steal cars and shoot bad guys and as far as i know, that's a genre called sandbox games. we don't compare every shooter to doom 1, now do we?

I'm going to compare Oblivion to GTA because you can steal horses and shoot people with bows and arrows.

I played the demo and had fun playing it. My only concern is that while playing the demo I got maxed out in both firearms and agility. I found 60 of the 500 agility orbs, which I think is a pretty high percentage for a demo. Besides, if I'm maxed out in agility what will more agility orbs do for me? So, while I had fun I wonder how quickly the game will be over.

Edit: Oh, and I'm going to compare Oblivion to Doom1 because when you go in the houses it's like a corridor shooter.

You're gonna have a lot higher skills in the full game :)

I got 117 of the orbs in the demo, and my little indicator thing for it kept going up, but very slow. If you are somehow fast enough you might be able to get to another level.

The agilities are purposely accelerated in the demo. In the final game, it will take much longer to level-up and the max level will be higher as well. That's why there's "500" in that area.

I decided to play the demo again (because it was fun) and noticed during the loading screen that the abilities are accelerated for the demo. I hadn't noticed that the first time I played. That makes sense. It gives you an idea of what you'll be able to accomplish. (Y)

This game is actually really fun! I wasn't expecting to enjoy the demo this much, but I will probably end up purchasing the game. And H3 beta might've hand something to do with my reaction, but so what :p

This wasn't even on my radar. I mean, I'm gonna get Halo 3, but don't really care too much about the beta invite. Still, I downloaded the Crackdown demo and, I've gotta say, it kicks all sorts of ass. It really feels like you're playing a comic book, especially with the super-abilities (jumping from building to building is the most fun I've had in a long time) and the light cel-shading.

Needless to say, I've already pre-ordered my copy.
