Skeletron
I'm trying to setup my new wireless router. It's a Neatgear MR814v2. I have my computer plugged into one of the router's ports, and the router plugged into the modem. So I'm able to connect to the router fine, but when I run the setup wizard it says "Detected Fixed IP or Needs Special Setup." I'm using Time Warner Road Runner cable internet and they tell me I have a dynamic IP. When I set the router to find everything (IP Address, DNS servers) automatically, I don't get any internet connection. In the TCP/IP properties for my Local Area Network connection settings in Windows, I have both set to Automatic as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. maurere
Are you using a crossover cable to connect to the router? You should not be. Try unplugging the cable modem for 1 minute and then plug it back in. Does it work if you plug your computer directly into the cable modem? Then it has to be a router problem.
