Chad
I think that research showed that dolphins are sensitive a/b sexual things like humans though. Not sure but I've heard dolphins referred to as second smartest creatures on earth (first humans), and I THINK that's one of the things they exhibit. I've always heard pigs were pretty smart too. Who would have thought. Rolling around in the mud all day  I am being serious, just so you don't think i'm giving you crap or anything
kobayashi
How about that any archeologist worth their salt uses the bible more than any other book to locate places. ?Time and time again the bible has been proven valid as a history book. ?Places and people only mentioned in the bible have been found.I agree when you say that the bible is a book of great historical value... many places and people that have been described in it have been proven to exist. But I don't agree, however, if you state that the bible is holding the absolute truth; nor that it contains some divine message(s). You are free to believe it off course, but there is no proof for it... The bible is written by men ani believei> (again, it's all about beliefs) they have written stories and placed them inside a correct historical context. This does not mean that there aren't any words that can be retained from the bible, but the same can be said about the Koran and a lot of other books. Marriage isn't a man-made doctrine. It is God made. Marriage is referred to several times in the bible. Marriage existed before they wrote the bible... How can you be so sure that it wasn't man-made? And what if your god meant marriage in a more emotional (cfr. deron danzler's post above) way, but those who have translated his words into the bible didn't get his point? The bible can be read many different ways.
Chad
Animals do not have sex just to have sex. ?They want to procreate. Um, so I take it youhaven't> read about all the observations of same sex activities among animals, not to mention the use of sex to establish dominance? That sure has nothing to do with procreation. And yeh, like Jackalo said, knowing means it is, believing means you think/assume/etc it is. These are dictionary definitions, dude. Don't be one of those *cough*s who redefines easy words so you can be/stay 'right'. Assurance doesn't mean knowledge. And believing doesn't mean assurance. Assurance comes from an outside force, such as other people, and stuff like that. All that means is other people also believe, and just because many people believe something doesn't mean it's true. Believing is within yourself, so it alone can't breed assurance. Your equation is blah. And don't just go making this more complicated for yourself. This is a very easy angle to understand. Like I said, people hang on to what they believe to be true and even with evidence against it, won't do much more than just slightly alter their beliefs to match the new evidence. And that's all you can really do at this point, so don't bother.:// There isnothing> you can say on the matter that I haven't heard and considered. Trust me. But if you really want to try, go ahead. It'll bore the crap out of me, though... Same sex in animals. Yah right. good one. Actually if you look up believe, you will see that it does refer to being "Sure" of what you think about something. Belief in something means that you think it is true. How is this a hard concept to understand? Like you say, where's the evidence to support your claims? I have proven my beliefs through biblical principles. Where do you get what you believe to be true? What "guides" you to think that?

The bible can be read many different ways. Yes marriage existed before the bible was written, but so did God. Marriage was His idea. But like I said, we can only discuss this topic so far without discussing how we have come to this conclusion. Of course that would involve the validity of the bible for me. You get your ideals from one thing, Joshie from another, etc. Someday you may agree with me about this, and maybe not.
kobayashi
Not sure but I've heard dolphins referred to as second smartest creatures on earth (first humans) contrary to popular belief, dolphins are just plain stupid  ... but they have an excellent communication system and a little more social capabilities than most other animals, which makes them looks smarter
Chad
This is a pretty good discussion for being just "Back Page News". We belong on the front page man!!! :punk: Well as fun as this discussion has been (and has stayed suprisingly flame free), I must retire from this topic. I honestly don't think any of us will get anywhere. Seems like we've been going back and forth over the same things recently. I do respect what you believe. If I didn't I would have flamed you a loooong time ago
kobayashi
I do respect what you believe. How is that? CNN may be wrong after all! Not all religious people are fanatics trying to bring the world to an end   EDIT: in case someone doesn't get it: altough i disagree uttermost with superfula's beliefs, i do respect him  Edited December 5, 2002 by kobayashi
JrDZ13
eh live and let live, and if anyone cant respect that, take them outside and shoot the mother***** - george carlin Honestly, if you dont like teenagers having sex... who cares? Not the teenagers.... lol. As long as every1 uses protection (and the vast majority of ppl i know do) its all good.
kobayashi
Having young ones means they are STRONGER in the wild. superfula, in case you're still keeping an eye on this thread: I really think you are wrong here... During gestation, for example, animals are less quick and fit. Later on, when they give birth, a lot of energy is used. Some die from exhaustion, most survive. But all have become more vulnerable... The chances of survival for the species benefits from young ones , not those of the individuals who have given birth!

Joshie
Eh, maybe it is a good idea to end the topic. The guy is obviously nuts if he really thinks animals never have sex with their same gender. o_O Talk about out of the loop. There's studies and reports on that all over academia. nicedreams
That article I don't think applies to Phoenix, AZ ... lol Virginity isn't bad. I think people should keep their virginity. It all depends on the person. You shouldn't presure someone into it. If it happens it happens. Some people live a sex lifestyle and others don't. Why does everyone try to be like everyone else. Having a kid with my baby momma without being married or together is hard as hell, but my son is great and I've never have regreted him. Just use CONDOMS (Even though they suck) !!!!!!!!!!! or pull out.... heeheeeheee...
