Sony May Cry - Another Capcom Betrayal?

Recommended Posts

Jonah tipped us off on the contents of his official Playstation Magazine (yes, the same one with the Gears ad). Inside, there is an article discussing the future of Devil May Cry 4 and whether it will remain a PS3 exclusive. PSM is reporting that Capcom will be showing some more Microsoft love and will be bringing the series to the Xbox 360. We?ve all heard this rumor before, but we?re starting to feel a little more giddy by the day. Are you guys interested in Devil May Cry 4 coming to the 360 and do you think it?ll help with console sales?

One more reason not to buy a PS3. What do they have left? Metal Gear and Gran Tourismo? 360 is gunna have forza 2 so im not sure GT is gunna matter that much anyway.

Wow...if Devil May Cry 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 make it to the 360, me and the PS3 are over!! Because, quite honestly, those two games are the only reasons I ever wanted a PS3 :o

Financially, it just makes sense. Why release a game for a console with a little over 1 million units sold when theres a console, equally powerful, with a user base of 10 million? Sony needs to increase the number of units sold in order to garner the support of developers. Otherwise, spending $10 million to make a game and not having even the potential customers there is a very risky move.

QTF... Yup. It's not Capcom betraying them really, it's just how business is done. Too bad to Sony I guess... :(

This isn't a huge surprise. Capcom has seen some big numbers for both Dead Rising and Lost Planet. Exclusives are going to go out the window unless the console manufacturers pony up a good chunk of cash to keep them.

Sony's biggest obstacle is their price tag.

but why wouldnt they pick the console that is 5 times more powerful and instills dicipline into human beings (ps3)?

Can't say I'm much of a fan of DMC anymore. I only played the first one. But the game looks fantastic. Now if only Capcom made RE5 exclusive :woot:

In lue of recent events I am sad to announce that after all these developers pulling support for the Playstation 3 and the fact that it is some what expensive to purchase, even though it technically has it under the hood, that the Playstation 3 has been laid to rest.

Just jokes. I'm sure Sony will find someone to develop for it much like so many developers produced all those titles for the ps2.

I'm not quite sure why people are so surprised. "Exclusive" in the current world does not mean too much anymore. It's pretty hard to keep anything exclusive.. whether it be video games, players on a sports team.. you name it.
